This season saw the first-ever NFL game played in Germany in Week 10 as the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers performed in Munich. Even though the Buccaneers came away with a victory over the Seahawks, the story of the game was that of the German fans.

The packed crowd of nearly 70K fans at Allianz Arena certainly enjoyed the spectacle. Based on a recent billboard, NFL fans in the European nation may already know one of the teams they'll see in the 2023-2024 season.

The Kansas City Chiefs are likely to be the next team to play in Germany come next season. Here's a photo of a billboard near the airport in Munich:

The nation has become the league's number one market in Europe, with Munich buzzing leading up to the Week 10 matchup. The game was headlined by Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady. Brady threw for 258 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception in the game.

With the win, the three-time NFL MVP became the first quarterback in NFL history to win three games outside the United States. He also won games in England and Mexico while with the New England Patriots.

Roger Goodell on playing more games in Germany in the future

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced at a fan forum in Munich how the NFL will have at least four games in Germany up to the 2025-2026 season. The current agreement includes the Week 10 game this season, along with a yearly game over the subsequent three seasons. The cities of Munich and Frankfurt will each host a game twice. This is fantastic news for fans in Europe, who will have a chance to see their favorite teams in person.

Goodell spoke prior to Sunday's game between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Seattle Seahawks at Allianz Arena. Goodell said:

"In our commitment, we're going to play the next four years, at least, and with at least four games. I wouldn't be surprised if it expanded beyond that at some point soon."
