Quay Walker, the rookie linebacker for the Green Bay Packers, was ejected from the game against the Detroit Lions in Week 18. The Packers went on to lose the game and missed out on making the playoffs.

Walker pushed a Lions trainer and was sent out of the game by the officials. This was the second time this season that Walker was ejected from a game, the first being against the Buffalo Bills.

Nobody liked what Walker did against the Lions, and the player himself broke into tears while going to the locker room. Here's what Quay Walker Tweeted in apology:

"I want to apologize publicly about what happened Sunday night. I reacted off of my emotions again and take full responsibility of making another stupid decision. Since then I’ve questioned myself on why did I do what I did when the trainer was doing his job!! I was wrong!!"

He added:

"I understand I have to face everything that comes with the decision I’ve made and I’m definitely paying for it now. Also to explain my frustration in the tunnel. I wasn’t upset about being kicked out."

Walker continued:

"I just knew I messed up again and was wrong for what I did and couldn’t believe I did it again. To the Detroit Lions and to the entire training staff including the person I did that too. I’m sorry."

He was drafted with the 22nd overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers and came in with high expectations. During his rookie season in the NFL, Quay Walker recorded 75 solo tackles, 46 assists, 1.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery in 17 games.

He is going to be an important part of the Packers going forward but Walker will be required to behave better. His actions have no place in the sport and hopefully, he will learn from this experience.

Matt LaFleur was extremely disappointed by Quay Walker

Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur was extremely disappointed by the actions of Walker. Here's what Matt LaFleur said about his rookie linebacker after the game:

"I have a much higher standard for our players than to do something silly like that. We've had a guy ejected twice. I don't think I've ever seen that in my career. I take that very personally. It is unacceptable."

This was the biggest game of the season for the Packers, yet these types of mistakes were made and it ended up costing them a playoff berth.

The Seattle Seahawks were able to seal the seventh seed in the NFC at the expense of the Packers, and a huge offseason awaits Green Bay.
