Neither Tom Brady nor Aaron Rodgers have had the seasons they imagined. Both were MVP candidates last year, with the Green Bay Packers star winning his second consecutive award, but both seem far from that now.

Their teams have struggled, with both being under .500 at this point. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still in first place in the NFC South, but it hasn't been pretty.

Following a loss and an injury to Rodgers against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, Brady was sympathetic on the Let's Go! podcast:

"We're all competitors and, you know, you just you want to compete as hard as you can. And it means a lot to him. You could tell by it. I know Aaron pretty well. And he's a tough competitor. He wants to win and everything he does. And their season hasn't quite gone the way they wanted it to."

He continued:

"That's just the way it goes sometimes. I think it gives you more appreciation for when it does go right and it does give you more appreciation for when you do get the wins. And I think a perspective is good to have and not to say that you want to deal with that all the time."

As for Rodgers' frustrating loss and injury combination, the wise quarterback had this to say:

"Life's got a way to humble us all. And losing football games is one way. There's a lot of different ways, obviously. And, you know, you just wake up every day. The next day, the sun's going to come up and you've got to do it the best you can do the next day. That's just the way we have to deal with life."

If possible, Rodgers will be the starter next week, though Jordan Love will be ready to go if necessary.

Is Aaron Rodgers going to play in Week 13?

Matt LaFleur insists that if he's healthy, Aaron Rodgers will start. Despite the season getting closer and closer to becoming moot, the Packers don't seem to want to see what Love has to offer yet.

Health will determine who starts in Week 13. Aaron Rodgers will be monitored this week, but was feeling better yesterday. He seems intent on playing, even though he looked to be in tremendous pain against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Rodgers had to leave the game and was replaced by Jordan Love, who put in a good display. Although Green Bay lost the match, fans were encouraged by the guts they showed throughout the game and some of the performances of their players.

Although the season now dangles by the thinnest of threads, the Packers won't give up on their postseason ambitions until it's mathematically impossible. Roll on Week 13 when the Green Bay Packers play the Chicago Bears.
