Justin Fields runs during Philadelphia Eagles v Chicago Bears

Justin Fields provided a spectacular moment that had the entire NFL rolled into one. It had amazing athleticism, coming back from adversity, facing heartbreak again, as well as eventual elation. Within the few seconds that the clock ticked, football gave us the entire range of emotion.

Justin Fields nearly scored on a touchdown run against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday that might very well have been the touchdown of the season.

The play started on the 50-yard line and saw the Chicago Bears quarterback take off on a second-and-27. Despite the adversity, he ran all the way into the endzone, lifting the spirits and odds for the Bears.

But we were still not done as it turned out that he had stepped out of bounds near the 10-yard line. Instead of us seeing the touchdown of the season, we then saw a first-and-goal. Disappointment soon turned to ecstasy again as David Montgomery scored on the first attempt.

But all good things usually come to an end. What should have been a simple one-point conversion was missed by kicker Cairo Santos.

Justin Fields could be on track to become the greatest running quarterback of all time

For a young quarterback just in the second year of his NFL career, it is tough to say he is the best ever. But it's hard to resist given what Justin Fields has done this season. There have been great players like Cam Newton and Lamar Jackson recently, but the sheer quality and consistency of the runs that Fields produce are just remarkable.

Earlier this season, the Chicago Bears played the Miami Dolphins. He ran for 178 yards in the game, which is an all-time record. He is not just a quarterback who can run, he is a running quarterback. His cleats from that game have already made the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

If Justin Fields keeps playing like this, who is to say that he won't make it there himself once he retires? He had the most incredible run on Sunday after virtually getting up from a sack. Imagine him being able to play unencumbered with a better offensive line.
