Will Jalen Hurts play against the Giants in the divisional round? Eagles QB provides update on availability

The Philadelphia Eagles had a bye in the NFC Wild Card round as they finished the regular season with the best record in the conference. Although they struggled in the final month, their excellent record for most of the year allowed them to make one or two missteps before locking in the first seed.

The bye week in the playoffs makes a huge difference, and the Eagles needed extra rest for their most important player. Jalen Hurts missed two straight games due to a shoulder injury, and while he came back in Week 18, he clearly wasn't 100%.

Nick Sirianni, Philadelphia's head coach, said after the game that Hurts was in a lot of pain, which is not exactly what you want to hear about your franchise quarterback when he's about to get into a playoff run.

As his team prepares to take on the New York Giants for the third time this season, Sirianni provided an update on Hurts' availability for the divisional round.

Sirianni said before Tuesday's practice that Hurts was healthy, would be a full participant in practice and that his shoulder issues are a thing of the past.

Hurts, meanwhile, said he was confident he would be able to perform to the best of his abilities.

"I've got a bounty on me every week I go out there on the field. Gonna go out there and just play my game. Whatever happens happens."

Can Jalen Hurts recapture his best form in the playoffs?

The MVP candidate returned in Week 18 for the season finale and was a shadow of his former self. While there was no reason to push in a game against backups, his level was below the standards he set over the season.

But a fully healthy Hurts is one of the most dangerous players in the league. He's an excellent passer, a big threat running the football, and, more than that, he's the biggest leader in Philadelphia's locker room; we all see how much better they are when Hurts is on the field.

He led his team to two victories against the Giants this season. Can he make it a third?
