With a Patrick Mahomes-sized Broncos contract, how much does Russell Wilson and his net worth stand at?

Denver Broncos QB Russell Wilson

Russell Wilson has made a living playing football and is one of the NFL's better quarterbacks. He was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2012 NFL Draft.

In his rookie season, he threw for 3,118 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. In that 2012-13 season, he finished third in the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year voting.

However, the former Wisconsin Badgers quarterback will go on to lead the Seahawks to the pinnacle of the NFL.

In just his second season in the league, the quarterback led Seattle to their first Super Bowl win in franchise history. He and the Seahawks defeated the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl 48.

Overall, he made the Pro Bowl nine times with Seattle, even leading them to another Super Bowl in the 2014-15 season.

Obviously, the amount of success he's had has made him quite rich. Russell Wilson has a net worth of $165 million. The quarterback has made $38 million from his efforts on the football field, as per Forbes.

He made $14 million from his off-the-field ventures, including from his endorsements (more on those later). The NFL star was tied for the 46th spot on the Forbes 2022 list of the World's Richest Athletes.

Amongst NFL players, the former Wisconsin Badger ranked 13th in total earnings. He is tied with boxer and YouTube star Jake Paul and NBA star Kemba Walker. The $14 million he made off the football field was more than what both Dak Prescott ($12 million) and Aaron Rodgers ($11 million) managed.

Russell Wilson contracts and salary

The Seattle Seahawks signed Russell Wilson to a four-year, $140 million extension in April 2019. At the time, that deal made him the NFL's highest-paid player.

The Seahawks traded him to the Denver Broncos this off-season. In September, the Broncos gave the former NC State star a five-year contract extension worth $245 million, including $165 million guaranteed.

In total, he'll be with the franchise until the 2028-29 season because the deal contains the two remaining years on his Seahawks deal. He'll make $48 million per season with the Broncos. The dead money attached to his contract will be $107 million in the 2023-24 season and $85 million in the 2024-25 season.

His deal with the Seattle-based Alaska Air group is reportedly coming to an end after a nine-year relationship. In a statement to 9NEWS, Alaska Airlines shared its feelings about the quarterback.

"Russell Wilson has a special place in our hearts as Alaska’s Chief Football Officer (CFO)."
