As many Pokemon GO fans will know, the game is not exactly in its best state with respect to the community. Following waves upon waves of anti-consumer practices, Niantic has slowly been pushing away the ardent fans they have cultivated over years of the game's life. Unfortunately, it has gotten to the point where players are quitting the game entirely.

Ever since Niantic redacted the changes to the Community Day events made for the pandemic by extending the three-hour event to six, things have only gone downhill for the mobile gaming company. The community has been taking note of Niantic taking away many changes that were for the better to force microtransactions.

On Pokemon GO's subreddit, many players have posted their thoughts on Niantic and how they are ruining their experience with the popular mobile title. With so many voices collectively agreeing that the state of the mobile game has only gotten worse with time, one wonders how long Niantic will turn a blind eye to their stories and experiences.

Reddit Reacts to Pokemon GO's dwindling player numbers: Will Niantic ever regain their respect?

Posted mere hours ago, a submission to the popular Pokemon GO forum by user Xbzfunjumper has already gained a hardy amount of traction from players who share their sentiment. In the post, they detail their experience with the mobile game and how they have witnessed the quality of their favorite app diminish over time.

In the detailed statement, they convey that the pandemic was the turning point where they really began to notice a downward tilt in quality for the various prizes and rewards players could earn. However, this was somewhat amended by the accessibility changes made by Niantic as a way to allow those impacted by the pandemic to still participate.

They then bring the weekly reward of Breakthrough Packages into the fray. The post states that they remember when the rewards were Legendary Pokemon which was later switched out with each content rotation. Back then, players did not need to compete in Raid Battles and pay for the pass for the chance to encounter a Legendary Pokemon.

Nowadays, the rewards players receive from these Research Breakthroughs in Pokemon GO are very lackluster. Many trainers detailed their unenthusiastic attitude towards the Pinsirs and Parasects they were receiving as of late. Seeing the app take such a 180 ruffled quite a few feathers in the community.

Overall, the original poster details their experiences with both the old and new Pokemon GO. They end by saying they do not feel that the game rewards players anymore, as even the hatch list for various eggs is hardly worth the time and effort. They conclude the post by saying they will no longer participate in the app until Niantic makes some serious changes.

With so many players following suit, it is unclear if Niantic is listening to their community's direct thoughts and criticisms. However, as the company begins to lose more and more money, they will eventually be forced to consider the players' thoughts and considerations regarding the game's future.
