5 things we learned from Triple H - Steve Austin podcast

The WWE Network got another boost on Monday Night when Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast made headlines. The Texas Rattlesnake had a long talk with Triple H this week and just like the other previous outings, there were a lot of exciting perks for the fans from the podcast.Hunter and Austin discussed a wide array of topics and broke kayfabe at times. It was not as controversial as the CM Punk podcast with Colt Cabana, but this one felt solid and honest at various points. The difference between Vince McMahon and Triple H was the main emphasis of the podcast, but there was a handful of other takeaways as well. So here is a look at some of the things we learned from the second edition of The Steve Austin Show.

#5 Chyna in Hall of Fame

Steve Austin shocked one or two fans when he asked Hunter about Chyna. He asked whether we would see Chyna in the Hall of Fame anytime soon and Triple H said that it is not a simple process.

Triple H did give Chyna her credit for changing the WWE landscape but said that there is a lot of political pressure against Chyna for her adult film career. The company wouldn’t want an eight year old child to Google about Chyna and find such details about her.

It has a lot to do with the family audience of WWE and as far as the Chyna fans out there are concerned, they might have to wait for a long time if they want to see Chyna make it to the Hall of Fame.

#4 He would have been here without Stephanie McMahon

There weren’t any lack of critics for Triple H when it came to his relationship with Stephanie McMahon. A majority of the fans saw the marriage as a bypass to Hunter’s success, but he has a different opinion about the same.

Hunter made it clear that he would have been working on the creative aspects of the business even if he hadn’t married Stephanie. He talked about how he loved the backstage part of professional wrestling just like he loved enjoying the spotlight.

Also, Triple H pointed out that he was bothered about the criticism at one point but with some help from the Undertaker, he got over it.

#3 Lesnars future is in Lesnars hands

Brock Lesnar might be booked for the WrestleMania main event, but his future with WWE is still up in the air. He may or may not leave the company and when asked about it, Triple H rested the responsibility on Lesnar.

He said that the company would love to have Lesnar for a longer period while they are completely happy with the current schedule of the champion. The Company and Lesnar are constantly talking about a new deal, but nothing has been finalized till now.

To conclude, Triple H underlined that the final decision will be that of Lesnar’s as WWE will have no trouble with a new deal.

#2 CM Punk being a hard nut to crack

Questions about CM Punk were expected to be the highlight of this podcast. Though things did not end up being controversial as expected, Triple H did take some shots at the Straight edge superstar.

Hunter told that Punk was awful when it came to communicating to the people in charge. He heard a lot of second hand opinions that Punk was unhappy during his WWE stay but whenever Hunter had a personal talk; Punk said that nothing was wrong.

He added that Vince McMahon was in charge of the way Punk was booked in WWE. When asked about Punk returning, the clichéd answer of never say never was put into context by the COO.

#1 Triple Hs vision for the future

Though all the takeaways that we saw so far were good, Triple H’s vision for the future stood out as the best one. His ideas are far better than what Vince McMahon is doing now and he will definetly make a better promoter than his father in law.

First of all, Hunter wants Raw to move back to two hours since producing three hours of top notch television per week is a drag. He also wants to give the women a fair share of television time just like what is happening down in NXT.

Also, making the promos less scripted was another vision put forward by Hunter. He addressed almost all the big problems faced by WWE at the moment and has left the fans drooling about the prospect of Vince retiring.
