Tag Teams who could defeat The New Day for the titles

SAWFT!

New Day rocks! From a trio of nobodies, The New Day has become one of the hottest selling acts of WWE in quite some time. At first, nobody believed they had what it takes but thanks to their silly antics backed by solid in-ring action, the trio has managed to earn the respect of the WWE universe. They successfully converted the chants of the fans from "New Day sucks" to "New Day rocks”. Even a simple thing such as a trombone can be made funny in the hands of The New Day. The two-time tag team champions have produced some of the best in-ring work in recent times, most recently the triple threat tag team match at TLC. But as all good things must come to an end, so does the New Day's title reign. Let's look at the list of potential teams who can possibly defeat the champions and establish themselves as the new face of the tag team division.

#5 Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady

SAWFT!

The winners of the NXT Year-End Award for Tag Team of the Year 2015 might have come up short in their quest for the NXT tag team championship but there’s a very good chance that they might win the big one.

One of the hottest tag teams of NXT, Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady are among the frontrunners to make the transition from NXT to the main roster. Their popularity among the NXT universe has made them one of the best-selling acts. And with the addition of Carmella, the team has hit the right chords with the NXT fans.

An up-and-comers can surely benefit enormously by defeating an already established team for the titles and make their transition worth watching.

#4 The Dudley Boyz

Dee Von! Get the tables!!

One of the most decorated tag teams of the past decade, the Dudley Boyz made their triumphant return to the WWE in August last year. The 9-time Tag Team Champions’ return brought back some much needed legitimacy to the tag team division.

Having wrestled for numerous promotions all over the world, the dynamic duo was wise to return to the very same company which helped them get noticed in their initial days. Their claim to fame was bringing the use of tables and plowing their opponents through it, a move they still perform to this day. Their extreme use of weapons made them popular in the eyes of the hardcore fans.

The ECW originals recently wrapped up their feud with the Wyatt Family and were at the receiving end of several defeats. The outcome of this feud has heavily damaged the credibility of the two veterans.

The least WWE can do is to give the duo one last run with the tag team titles and bring their tag team championship tally to 10. After giving so much to this business they deserve to hold the prestigious titles one more time or else their latest run with the company will not be remembered in the coming years.

#3 Luke Harper & Erick Rowan

The sons of Bray Wyatt

Nobody at this point deserves the tag team titles more than the aforementioned duo.

WWE has used the creepy yet powerful duo of Luke Harper and Erick Rowan as the acolytes of Bray Wyatt for far too long. They are essentially there to do Bray Wyatt’s bidding for him with no character development of their own.

Without Bray Wyatt, these two superstars find themselves stranded without anything major to do, which is evident by their lacklustre singles run.

Harper’s technical in-ring abilities combined with Rowan’s brute strength makes them a formidable tag team. So it is fitting that they should be the ones to dethrone the New Day and become the new tag team champions and cement their dominance over the tag team division.

#2 The Lucha Dragons

The masked Luchadores

The high-flying duo of Sin Cara and Kalisto has produced some of the best tag team matches of this year so far. An awesome showing at TLC along with a gravity defying Salida Del Sol from the top of the ladder onto another ladder by Kalisto (which earned him a Slammy award) makes them worthy of a title run.

Kalisto, in particular, proved his mettle by defeating Alberto Del Rio and becoming the United States championship. Agreed, his moment in the sun was just that, having lost the championship a few days later but not without putting up one hell of a fight.

The only problem is the ill-fated injury to Sin Cara which essentially killed all the momentum that the masked Luchadores had built for themselves through a series of high octane matches.

If he could regain his health and come back on time then they can surely defeat the current champions and capture their first tag team championship on the main roster.

#1 The Usos

The sons of Rikishi

The twin brothers have found it pretty hard to get the momentum going in their favor ever since Jey Uso came back from a shoulder injury. The 2-time tag team champions and 2-time Slammy award winning tag team of the year have failed to create the same magic that they are so loved for.

The Usos have been a consistent tag team on the main roster but, of late, their unidirectional character is slowly getting stale. They need some character development which could rejuvenate their boring personas and inject new life into their careers.

If they can manage to pull that off, they can certainly win the tag team titles once again.
