Top 5 WWE Rumors of the Week and Analysis : 8 February, 2015

WWE is still trying to escape the hangover of their Royal Rumble screw up but that did not stop the rumor mill from piling up speculations about the business. There were some interesting topics up for debate over the past seven days and all of them seemed like alarming issues for Vince McMahon.Names like Randy Orton, Roman Reigns, Batista and Dean Ambrose were in the spotlight of the rumors as the company took one another step towards WrestleMania with the week.It is still early to know whether all these rumors will materialize or not. Still, here is a look at the best speculations from the lot that came up this week on the Internet.

#5 Batista still under contract with WWE

Remember Batista? Well, after a botched Rumble win last year and a forgettable run, the Animal went on to have a successful stay in Hollywood with Guardians of Galaxy. He has been out of WWE for nearly six months now but according to the rumors, he is still contracted to the promotion.

Batista apparently is happy with the way his acting career is going and has no intentions of coming back into the squared circle. With this situation in place, it will be really confusing if the rumor is correct.

However, if he is indeed in links with WWE, then we could keep our hopes high about seeing one last match from the Animal even though he will not be the best wrestler around the block.

#4 Possible WrestleMania Card

The possible match card for WrestleMania has been changing drastically with each week. WWE Universe is not happy with anything that comes around as a possibility but last week saw an improvement in situations.

Rumored card included a main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar for the championship with that being the only doubtful match for the fans. Sting vs. Triple H,Rusev vs. John Cena, Bray Wyatt vs. Undertaker, Dean Ambrose vs. Bad News Barrett, Daniel Bryan vs. Dolph Ziggler, Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins, Goldust vs. Stardust, Usos vs. Ascension and Damien Mizdow vs. The Miz were the other matches in the card.

If WWE could do something about the main event as well, this card has the potential to be the best one in recent years.

#3 Randy Ortons return date

Randy Orton has been missing from the WWE programming since November. One might think that he is taking a leave due to injury but in fact, he is been kept away due to creative reasons.

WWE writers do not feel that it is the right time to bring back Orton and his fans will have to wait a bit longer. According to the rumors going around, his return might be delayed till March. It is just one month before WrestleMania in case you didn’t notice.

This leaves the company with nearly four weeks to build a proper angle for him. The decision sounds like a weird one and it would be better if they let him return faster.

#2 Dean Ambrose to win Intercontinental Championship

With all the main event stars engaged in possible feuds for WrestleMania, Dean Ambrose was left with a lack of opponents. The company had no other option than pushing him down into the midcard and let him feud with Bad News Barrett for the Intercontinental championship.

And from the looks of it, The Lunatic fringe will go all the way to win the gold. The idea of Barrett vs. Ambrose is an appealing one and it will clearly skyrocket the credibility of the intercontinental championship.

Ambrose however could have been involved in something bigger. The company should have brought back the Rollins feud as those two could have stolen the show at Mania.

#1 Roman Reigns turning heel

WWE is still feeling the wrath of fans when it comes to the Royal Rumble result. Reigns walking out as the winner has pushed everyone into insanity and the counter measure from the company is on its way.

And it involves turning Reigns heel just like they did with Batista last year. The first hint was dropped on Raw last week when Reigns pulled off a heel promo against Daniel Bryan in the locker room.

There is no indication on whether Bryan would be in the WrestleMania main event or not but if he isn’t, matters will be interesting. A heel Reigns will make Lesnar a baby face at the pay-per-view and since Lesnar is yet to sign a new contract, things are sure to get messed up.
