5 Superstars Who Can Win US Title From John Cena

Samoa JoeNight of Champions marked an end to the United Championship title reign of Seth Rollins. The Architect lost out his title to John Cena at the pay-per-view and the WWE Universe is faced with an important question now: Who will take the title away from Cena?It was a relevant question during Cena’s last title reign as well. When Rollins came in and won the title, everyone thought that he was the ‘one’ but now that the title is back in Cena’s hand, we are back to square one. Cena losing the title to someone is easier said than done but at some point or the other, WWE has to crown a new champion. And here is a look at the possible names who are worthy of giving Cena a run for his money.

#5 Samoa Joe/ Finn Balor/ Sami Zayn

Samoa Joe, Finn Balor and Sami Zayn are representatives here. It could be any superstars from NXT who wants to make an impact with their debut. Kevin Owens feuded with Cena when he first came to the main roster and it ended up being a success story. WWE could use the same tactics with any one from these three or some other superstar as well.

Personally, I would love to see Samoa Joe take the title away from Cena. Joe has a wealth of experience and is a respected name in the company. He needs to come up with a bang and a lengthy feud with Cena will be a great addition to the resume of both superstars.

The future of Daniel Bryan is still a question mark. He might or might not wrestle again but if his return is set to happen in the near future, then there won’t be anyone better than him to take the United States title from Cena. Bryan and Cena have an immense chemistry when it comes to in-ring work and they the fans haven’t competed many times in pay-per-views as well.

The returning underdog challenging the reigning face of the company promises to be a storyline worth waiting for. Despite the possibilities, the physical condition of Bryan is the biggest problem that WWE will face. And the worst part is: they cannot do anything about it.

Neville was one of those superstars who came up against Cena during the US Championship Open Challenge. The highflier went on to have a memorable match with the Champ and he deserves to have a title reign under his belt. Neville, who is a former NXT champion, has been kept away from the championship scenes in the main roster.

He is relegated to midcard feuds at the moment and the only way to shoot him back to relevance will be a title run. Defeating Cena will be a great start to Neville’s push as it will project him as a worthy champion in front of the WWE Universe.

The anti-hero vs. hero situation has always worked for the company. Cena and Ambrose fit perfectly into these roles and including the United States Championship into the mix only makes things more exciting. Considering that Ambrose is the longest reigning United States Champion in WWE, he deserves to have another run with the championship.

Ambrose has been floating around without solid wins or title reigns ever since the Shield split up. Despite the forgettable booking, Ambrose has a great fan following. He and his fans deserve a title reign and it would taste sweeter when it comes at the expense of Cena, who is exactly opposite to what Ambrose is.

The Swiss Superman is enjoying a baby face run right now and WWE should think about taking it to the next level by giving him the United States Championship. Cesaro is a former champion and was a good one as well. His chemistry with Cena is a standout one as well. The only problem here would be the shortcoming of Cesaro when it comes to the promo department.

He is not the best talker in the house but if WWE can find a way around this, these two are literally going to blow the roof off. The fans will have no complaints about Cesaro winning the title from Cena as they are firmly behind the ‘king of swing’.
