What’s next for Owens?

Undertaker arrives and attacks Lesnar with revenge on his mindA lot was expected from Battleground given all the matches and the star presence. It lived up to it for the most part. Brock Lesnar faced Seth Rollins in the main event just after the third PPV match between John Cena and Kevin Owens.NXT chants echoed throughout the arena as Charlotte and Sasha Banks competed in their first PPV match and a reunion of sorts took place. And as far as rumours go, some were false and some were precisely true. This was the best edition of Battleground we’ve seen since its inception three years. Here are 5 points to note from this PPV.

#5 A feud ends?

What’s next for Owens?

For the third PPV in a row, Cena and Owens delivered a match that had the audience on the edge of their seats. Everything they did, got a reaction. Of course, there will be polarized opinions about the ending where Owens was made to submit to the STF but these two men produced another great bout. That ought to be the larger point.

But with Owens submitting, what it indicates maybe is the fact that this feud might take a break for a while. Or if Owens still wants a shot at the title, maybe another impossible thing happens. Maybe he makes Cena tap out the next time around.

You never know. Owens has been booked well.

#4 NXT! NXT!

Woman of the moment

The divas match was basically a platform for Charlotte and Sasha Banks to show what they’ve got. Brie Bella did well in taking all their offenses and getting minimal offense of her own in the match. This match was all about the ‘WOOOO”, ‘Like A Boss’ and ‘NXT’ chants. Also, there was the expected ‘This Is Awesome’ chant. Sasha controlled most of the match but Charlotte won it. Both of them came out looking majorly strong.

The arena was definitely more of a Banks supporter and she justified that with her wrestling and selling.

So far, so good, WWE!

#3 Wyatt wins

Wyatt is all smiles

Well, this was certainly interesting. Firstly, Wyatt did not win clean. And secondly, he did win. So,it means that this feud will continue and that’s a positive given the fact that Wyatt hasn’t had many memorable feuds to talk about this year. Also, Dean Ambrose did not play a relevant role as rumored.

But somebody by the name of Luke Harper did! This match had the crowd on its side. Both superstars performed quite well.

It took a man in a hoodie to come and make a difference, though and that indicated towards 2/3rd of The Wyatt Family reunion. Didn’t know why they broke up in the first place.

#2 Still, The Champion

The title’s going nowhere for now

Seth Rollins walked to the ring with a smirk on his face. The story so far had been about how Lesnar is going to simply end him and his reign as champion. For two weeks, Lesnar took out Rollins’ security personnel and the he broke Kane’s ankle.

So, Rollins walked alone to the ring with no assistance to help him regain the championship he won at Wrestlemania 31.

And, the rumors came true. He did not lose, he walked out as Champion after taking 13 suplexes and what not.

But only because another rumour came true.

#1 Heel Taker?

Is he a heel now?

The Undertaker was rumored make a return to set up things for Summerslam. The initial rumors said that it’ll be Sting vs The Deadman but an injury to Sting changed those plans and then everything got shifted to having a Lesnar VS Taker match.

That rumour looks to be precisely in motion.

The Undertaker returned immediately after Lesnar delivered 13 suplexes and an F-5 and was getting ready for a pin. Taker shows up, Lesnar is shocked, Taker goes for the chokeslam, Lesnar resists and goes for the F-5 but hey, Undertaker resists. Then we get one chokeslam and two tombstone piledrivers.

But then, he also delivered a low blow. A typical heel move. The match was over and it was over precisely because he attacked a babyface. Lesnar won’t turn heel so soon after his babyface turn.

The rematch from Wrestlemania 30 is On!
