WWE Monday Night Raw preview: 28 December 2015

The much awaited returnThe last episode of Monday Night Raw was forgettable. However, just like all the years that went by, we are going to tune into Raw to see what WWE has to offer. This curiosity is perhaps the biggest curse of wrestling fans.We know that the product is crap and yet, we struggle to stay away from it. WWE take advantage of the situation and shove things down our throat. Still, there is a ray of hope that keeps us seated to our couches when Raw goes live.Sometimes we get the satisfaction that we hope for and sometimes we dont. The latest edition of Raw could fall to either categoryand here is a look the things to look forward to.

#5 The entertaining New Day

The force is strong with these three

New Day successfully defended their tag team titles against Lucha Dragons on SmackDown. The title defence has left them with no clear direction, but this does not mean that New Day will be a bore fest on RAW.

In fact, New Day rarely bores the fans. Though we do not know who New Day will face next, we know that they will have an entertaining segment on the show.

This time around, WWE is teasing two things: a Christmas segment and a Star Wars segment from the tag team. These will not have any significant impact on the direction, but it will help us to escape from the harsh reality at times.

#4 Vince McMahon on television

Back on television

Last week, the rumor mill suggested that Vince McMahon was not going to return any soon. This turned out to be a wrong speculation. The chairman will be back on television this week, and his presence will shake things up.

The last time we saw him, Vince was lying ringside after taking a superman punch from Roman Reigns. Reigns will have to pay the consequences of his action and it will probably be the backbone plot of this week’s Raw.

Triple H could also come back into the mix after missing out last week. In short, the Authority will be on full throttle mode.

#3 All set to explode

WWE is slowly milking the situation between Charlotte and Becky Lynch.

We all know where it is headed to, but still, WWE is taking it slow. To an extent, it is a good decision. Both the divas will have a purpose to fight when WWE finally books the match. Also, this avoids the unwanted repetitive bookings.

We saw the friction between Charlotte and Becky magnify on SmackDown, and the way in which the creative team used Team BAD for the same was a solid move.

This storyline will be pushed further forward on Raw and if we are lucky, we could even get a full blow out of this friendship.

#2 League of Nations going to pay

Dangerous or not

The League of Nations featured throughout last week’s Raw. They took out almost all the major babyfaces on the roster before crumbling down against the Samoan Superman.

The idea was to project LON as a dangerous group but since most fans did not care, WWE’s efforts went partially in vain.

Despite the lack of success, WWE will push LON this week. We could see backstage attacks or run-ins from the faction. They could also feature in Vince McMahon’s plan to teach Roman Reigns a lesson.

While as a group these four men could be involved in the above angles, as individuals, they have their own headaches, one among which is our final slide.

#1 Cenation leader is back

After a short hiatus, John Cena will return to television on Monday Night. His absence was a big blow for the company and his return is expected to be a big boost.

Cena will go head to head with Alberto Del Rio. This means that he could be absorbed into the on-going feud between Roman Reigns and League of Nations.

Cena, as we know, has a history of dethroning factions and League of Nations could fall into his deathtrap. Meanwhile, the exciting prospect is Cena entering the Royal Rumble. Having him in the Rumble and a potential Reigns vs. Cena showdown is something that makes the fans drool.
