WWE Night of Champions 2014: 3 Possible Endings for Dolph Ziggler vs. Miz match

Night of Champions might be shaping up slow and steady as the company is yet to add matches into the card now that the pay-per-view is less than three weeks away. The latest match that was announced for the show came in form of a SummerSlam rematch between Dolph Ziggler and Miz with the Intercontinental championship on the line. Unlike the last outing, this time, it will be Ziggler who has everything to lose while Miz would be looking to make a statement.Apparently the unification match which was heavily teased wouldn’t be happening this time around however, here is a look at how the match that we have in our hands could turn out with the three possible endings.

#3 Its the stunt double

Damien Sandow is a superstar who has all the ammunition in his hand to make it big in the company. For one reason or the other, he has been kept low by WWE and was recently given a gimmick where he had a tough time choosing an identity.

The characters that Sandow played ranged from ridiculous to utterly ridiculous which exposed the headache that WWE writers had while booking him.

Recently however, they put the idea into some good news when they let Sandow depict the Miz’s new gimmick. Sandow brilliantly morphed into the character and WWE was all of a sudden having something good with him.

Unlike his previous gimmicks, the company also allowed Sandow stick to this character for more than one week which makes it a possibility of him having a say at NOC.

Sandow could cost Miz the match opening a meaningful feud between the two while Ziggler could find a new opponent.

#2 The path to unification

WWE failed to find a place for the United States Championship in the SummerSlam match card. The card was so packed that there wasn’t any space for more than one midcard title. This is a situation that the company has to address.

At the current landscape, without a brand split, WWE will be struggling to keep both the United States and the Intercontinental title relevant.

Having two separate matches would not let the fans invest as well while taking away the precious PPV time. WWE let the two champions and the respective contenders cross path recently put booked them separately instead of having a combined match.

This has given rise to a lot of friction among the ones involved in the title scene which could simply erupt at NOC.

Sheamus or Cesaro could interfere causing a no contest and laying the foundation for a future unification match.

#1 Reign continues

The Intercontinental Championship win of Ziggler came after a lot of complaining and whining on how badly he is treated by the WWE creative.

He was pulling all the right strings in between the ropes and is over with the fans. This made the fans feel that Ziggler deserved a better push than just jobbing around for all the midcarders and part timers.

The moment finally happened at SummerSlam where he defeated the Miz who was coming along good with his latest Hollywood persona. No one expected Miz to lose the title but when he did, it gave a ray of new hope to the fans.

The one who they wanted was all of a sudden getting a good title reign and it would be a pity if the company pulls the plug of the reign so soon.

This makes Ziggler the favorite at NOC as Miz would benefit more from losing the match than actually winning the title back.
