WWE: Top 5 Rumours of the Week and Analysis - November 16, 2014

The WWE rumor mill was back in action this week and like the usual, there were a lot of points up for discussion over the past seven days.Rumors regarding the last members of Team Authority and Team Cena were expected to make headlines and let’s just say that those expectations were well met. Roman Reigns’ return date and the possible storylines awaiting him was another big rumor.Fans who are thinking that they saw the last of Hulk Hogan in between the ropes were met with some bad speculation as well, while Luke Harper’s luck seemed to turn upside down. Without any more introductions, here is a look at the top five rumors of the week and their possible impact on the WWE product.

#1 Alberto Del Rio was offered his job back

Alberto Del Rio and WWE reached a settlement this week which apparently worked out well for both the parties. Del Rio agreed that he would not make any disgracing comments about WWE nor sue them while the company dropped his non –compete clause and gave him some good compensation.

Del Rio has been picking up some independent dates lately and is also set to join the rising Lucha Underground promotion on January.

The interesting thing about their discussions was WWE’s willingness to take Del Rio back. The company did offer Del Rio his job back but the Mexican turned down the offers.

It’s puzzling why WWE let him go in the first place if he was to be taken back but it was a good decision from both sides to settle the disputes at the earliest.

#2 Luke Harper in line to win the Intercontinental championship

All the creepy vignettes that WWE pulled off with Luke Harper’s eyes might have a meaning after all. Harper’s recent attack of Dolph Ziggler on Raw is just the start of their feud and the two will continue to work on a singles storyline after Survivor Series.

Harper garnered many positive reactions during his time with the Wyatt family and he is expected to get a good push in the coming weeks. And that push is most likely to see an Intercontinental championship win as well.

Ziggler has been a great champion so far and gives his absolute maximum whenever he gets in between the ropes. However, he took a lot of losses down the road recently and WWE doesn’t want a champion to lose that often which in turn opened the door for Harper.

#3 Hulk Hogan might wrestle at WrestleMania 31

Hogans is light years away from his prime but he still has the idea of wrestling one more match and that too on the biggest stage of them all.

He has been pitting the idea of the same to WWE for a long time now and was open about his desire in almost all the interviews. Though it sounded ridiculous in the start, the company might just go with the hype and let Hogan wrestle if he passes the physical.

There is no idea on who his opponent would be but there is a rumor making the rounds about Sting making the cut.

It will not be a great decision from WWE if they let Hogan wrestle against Sting at WrestleMania but it would clearly draw even if the regular fans would hate the idea.

#4 Luke Harper and Ryback to join Survivor Series main event

The Team Authority vs. Team Cena main event at the Survivor Series has been the biggest talking point in WWE ever since the match was announced.

So far, both teams have lined up four superstars each with one place left for filling. This week’s Raw would do the honor of completing the lineups and Luke Harper and Ryback is all set to make it into the teams.

Harper did impress the Authority with his destruction of Dolph Ziggler last week while Ryback was driven away to the other side by Hunter and his stooges.

The backstage people are said to be high on Ryback at the moment and it wouldn’t be surprising if he see Ryback getting a stronger booking than everyone when Survivor Series finally arrives.

#5 Roman Reigns opponent when he returns

Roman Reigns would apparently be fit to wrestle by December which means that we could expect him to come back before TLC.

As things stand now, there are big plans for the Samoan Superman when he returns and one of them is a program with Rusev. The Bulgarian Brute is scheduled to face Reigns in numerous live shows in mid – December and this means that we might get a program between the two right after Reigns is back.

The idea of a Reigns – Rusev feud is nothing short of exciting but this will spell disaster for Rusev. The United States champion has been booked strong so far and a feud with Reigns will change that as Rusev might have to take the fall to put Reigns over.
