The Barclays Premier League continues to amaze us every year. Injuries to key players, managers getting sacked, controversies on and off the pitch (Ever heard of Luis Suarez? ), unpredictable results, and of course, the conclusion to it. However, I do not think I am wrong in saying that this year’s finale or conclusion will be the best one yet.

After the teams faced six games each , the table looks wide open, and there have already been several surprises. The defending champions, Manchester United, are unbelievably not even in the top half of the table. Their weak and aging defense has been exploited by all the teams that they’ve faced.

They have conceded 8 goals in 6 games, which tells you the story. The pressure of succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson hasn’t helped David Moyes, and many fans already feel he is the wrong man for the job. Only one marquee signing has been made by Moyes , that being Marouane Fellaini, who does not seem to be justifying the move from Everton.

Elsewhere , at London, the so-called Special One Jose Mourinho, hasn’t completely justified the hype he created on returning back to the club where he was once so successful. As always, under the ownership of the wealthy Roman Abramovich, Chelsea did buy players with high potential such as Willian and Schurrle , who have still not caught the eye of many experts. Eto’o was brought in , but doesn’t look like he could be part of the counter-attacking football that Chelsea are known for.

Having sold Gareth Bale for 85 million pounds , Tottenham brought in several starts like Soldado , Eriksen ,Lamela etc. The players seem to be justifying themselves as Spurs are at second place in the table. Only losing to the Gunners , Tottenham have conceded only 2 goals this season, and their defense can certainly be proud of it.

Arsene Wenger , over the summer , has been under tremendous scrutiny for choosing to remain passive for majority of the open transfer window. In a quick turn of events, he is now waiting to receive the ‘Manager of the Month’ award! Arsenal are the top of the table, and the manager deserves praise.

Wenger pleased the fans by signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid for 42.5 million pounds and Mathieu Flamini (was a free agent). The two players have been key to the team’s success. One is worth forty million and the other plays like he is worth forty million. Ozil has provided four assists and has even managed to score a goal against Napoli. The fans love him in England, and he is becoming one of the most popular players. Ramsey and Giroud have been performing wonderfully as well, and have been unstoppable.

ozilgiroudramsey Recently promoted sides Hull City and Cardiff City have surprised everyone. They have managed to upset top teams. The results so far have been unpredictable. The title race is wide open. Which team will emerge on top? Only time will tell.
