Green Bay Packers Bio

With a rich history dating back to 1919, the Packers are the third-oldest team in the NFL. This franchise has a unique bond with its fan base as the Packers are the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in America. The Packers started off as an amateur team and entered the American Football League in 1921. The Packers have been successful throughout history, and the legendary Vince Lombardi (after whom the Super Bowl trophy was named) was also a Packers coach. The Packers have won the most league championships (13), which includes 11 NFL Championships and 4 Super Bowl titles. The Packers have also made their mark in history by being the first team ever to win a Super Bowl title. Although it is a community-owned franchise, Forbes estimates the Packers to be worth around $5.6 billion as of May 2025.
The Packers have nurtured a tradition of producing legendary players, from Bart Starr and Brett Favre to the dynamic Aaron Rodgers. The team's loyal fan base is known as 'Cheeseheads'.

Green Bay Packers Roster 2025-26
The Green Bay Packers' offseason move, especially the draft, showed their intent to help QB Jordan Love spread the ball by surrounding him with a plethora of wide receivers. After signing Mecole Hardman in free agency, the Packers did something that they hadn't done since 2002: taking a receiver (Matthew Golden) in the first round of the NFL draft (via ESPN) and doubled down on it by selecting another wideout Savion Williams in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. Their other two moves, signing offensive guard Aaron Banks during FA and grabbing OT Anthony Belton in the second round of the draft, are to help their franchise quarterback, Love, stay upright. Aside from this, no major moves were made by Green Bay in the offseason, and most of their starters from last season are returning.
Green Bay Packers Owner
Green Bay Packers, Inc. is a non-profit organisation that owns the Green Bay Packers. This organisation has been in charge of the team since 1923, which makes the Packers the only major professional sports franchise in the United States to act as a nonprofit institution. The organisation has 538,967 stockholders, and no one is allowed to own more than 200,000 shares, as per the Green Bay Packers' official website.
There is also a Board of Directors that looks after the functionality of the Packers. The elected president, Mark Murphy, represents the organisation and attends all the NFL meetings and league functions. Murphy represented the Washington Redskins (now Commanders) during his time as a pro player and also was also a member of 1983 Redskins (now Commanders) squad who won the Super Bowl. He has been an active President and CEO of the Packers since 2007.
Green Bay Packers Head Coach

Matt LaFleur, the 15th head coach in Green Bay's history (via Green Bay Packers official website), was hired in 2019. In his six years in Titletown, the Packers have finished with double-digit wins in 4 of them. Under Matt's tutelage, Green Bay has been a perennial playoff team, as evidenced by its missing the playoffs only once (as of May 2025) since he took over the head coaching duties. As of May 2025, Lafleur has a win-loss record of 67-33, which gives him a 0.670 winning percentage. However, his postseason win-loss record has been less than stellar, as displayed by his 0.375 winning percentage. Before joining the Packers organisation, LaFleur served as an offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for various NFL teams like Los Angeles Rams, Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons, Houston Texans and Washington Redskins (now Commanders).
Green Bay Packers Quarterback

When Green Bay took Jordan Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL draft, no one knew that they would be getting the third straight franchise quarterback. After almost three decades of dominance in the North, with Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers calling plays from under center, Green Bay once again hit it out of the park with Jordan Love. Love took the same path as Aaron Rodgers, by sitting behind a 4-time NFL MVP for three years before getting the reins of the franchise in 2023. In his first two years as a starter, Love has compiled an 18-15 win-loss record. He has thrown for more than 8100 yards and 60 passing touchdowns as of May 2025. Love has led Green Bay to the postseason on both occasions (2023 and 2024 seasons). He also has one playoff win under his belt by the end of the 2024 NFL season.
