Established in 1965 the Miami Dolphins are the oldest professional sports team in Florida. They made their professional football debut in 1966 as the ninth team to join the American Football League. Over the years, the Dolphins have achieved great success, including two Super Bowl victories in the 1972 and 1973 seasons, making them the only team with an undefeated season in NFL history. Led by legendary coach Don Shula, the Dolphins became a dominant force in the '70s and '80s. Although they have not won a Super Bowl since then, the team remains competitive and strives for greatness.
