Novak Djokovic is next scheduled to compete at the Geneva Open after accepting a wildcard for the ATP 250 event. The Serb most recently competed at the Italian Open, where he endured a third-round exit.

Djokovic received a bye to the second round in Rome, where he made easy work of Corentin Moutet, winning 6-3, 6-1. After the match, while he was signing autographs, the Serb was hit on his head with a bottle, and he fell to the ground in pain. He went on to lose his third-round match to Alejandro Tabilo.

After the Italian Open, Djokovic will be back in action at the Geneva Open as the top seed after accepting a wildcard. It will be his very first appearance at the ATP 250 event, which takes place just a week before the French Open.

The Serb has won 12 of 17 matches in the 2024 season, with his best performances being reaching the semifinals of the Australian Open and the Monte-Carlo Masters.

The two have locked horns on 36 occasions, with the Serb leading 25-11 in the head-to-head. They have faced one another on clay six times, with Djokovic winning five of those matches. Their last meeting came in the final of the 2017 Qatar Open, with the Serb winning 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. They were supposed to meet in the third round of the 2022 Madrid Open, but Murray withdrew due to illness, giving Djokovic a bye to the quarterfinals.
