Novak Djokovic's youngest brother Djordje and his wife Saska Veselinov welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Wednesday (March 22).

Djordje, a former tennis player, married Veselinov in a Belgrade church last September. Although the couple have been expecting a child since late 2022, they kept it secret until January 2023.

Celebrations were in full flow on Wednesday as the three Djokovic brothers partied alongside family and friends. In a video shared on social media, Novak Djokovic and his brother Marko can be seen carrying a delighted Djordje on their shoulders.

Two months ago, Veselinov divulged the news of the couple expecting a baby via Instagram. She stated that she would be taking on "the most important role" of her life, that of being a mother.

"In less than three months, a reinforcement arrives to our family, and from that moment, I get the most important role in my life - I WILL BECOME A MOM," she wrote.

Elaborating on why she kept it a secret in the initial months, Veselinov conveyed that happiness needs to be "kept quiet."

"I haven't wanted to talk about this topic for a long time. I have been avoiding public events, even though everything is fine with pregnancy from day one, but happiness really needs to be kept quiet nisam. Now that it has already become obvious, and I can't hide my belly, I'm glad I can share the happiest news with you this way," she added.

The Serb at the 2023 Dubai Tennis Championships

Novak Djokovic played doubles with his brother Djordje for the first time on tour at the 2015 China Open. In their opening match, the duo registered a triumphant win over the pairing of Gong Mao-Xin and Michael Venus (7-6(5), 6-7(6), 10-5).

However, they suffered a straight sets defeat (6-4, 6-1) against eventual champions Vasek Pospisil and Jack Sock in the quarterfinals.

In an interview with LWOS last year, Djordje shared his admiration for his older brother.

"Novak is such an inspiration to me. He has achieved so much in tennis and still continues to keep going on. Yet we maintain our relationship like any other siblings. All three of us brothers moved away from home at a very young age. We kept pushing each other to do better," said Djordje.

Novak Djokovic's most recent outing was at the Dubai Tennis Championships, where he lost in the semifinals against Daniil Medvedev, 6-4, 6-4.
