According to the Guardian, Police spokesperson Stephanie Weiss revealed that a suspicious suitcase was spotted. Hence, the evacuation. The match was eventually called off by the police. This news comes in just after a few days since the attacks in Paris with Germany playing France at the the Stade De France, one of the places attacked.

The friendly between Germany and Netherlands has been called off two hours before kick-off after the police evacuated the HDI-Arena in Hannover where the match was being held after a suspicious suitcase was found inside.
