Tom Wilson locked horns with Senators Mark Kastelic after the latter landed a hit on Capitals defenseman Rasmus Sandin behind the Caps goal.

Tom Wilson clashed into Kastellic right after the hit on Sandin and the both decided to drop the gloves. Both players were initially clinching and tugging jerseys when Kastelic landed three shots on Wilson.

Tom Wilson then landed two big hooks right onto Kastelic's face to which the center responded with shots to Wilson's body. Wilson then managed to land a couple more shots to the back of Kastelic's head as he was pinned against the boards.

The tilt occurred in the last minutes of the second period when the Washington Capitals were down 5-1.

Josh Norris made a much-anticiapted comeback for the Ottawa Senators 270 days after suffering an injury in late January last season.

Vladimir Tarasenko opened the scoring 4:28 into the first period. Josh Norris scored a goal during the Sens power play on an assist from Drake Batherson.

Capitals replied with John Carlson's goal from an Alex Ovechkin and Tom Wilson assist.

Senators started the second period with Josh Norris' second goal of the goal with an assist from Batherson yet again. Artem Zub and Claude Giroux scored Senators' fourth and fifth goals of the game giving them a 5-1 lead.

Jake Sanderson scored the only goal in the third period at 11:48 for his second point of the game and Senators' sixth goal of the game.

Alex Ovechkin failed to register a shot on goal for a second consecutive game

Washington Capitals' star and captain continued his streak to register 0 shots on goal for the second consecutive game.

Fans were critical of his performance and questioned if his race to beat Wayne Gretzky's scoring record is at risk.

Ovechkin's first 0 SOG game was during a 3-2 win against the Calgary Flames. The game against Ottawa was the first time in his career where the Russian forward failed to register a single shot-on-goal for two consecutive games.

Capitals will face off against the Montreal Canadiens on 21st October at the Bell Centre. Alex Ovechkin will be under the spotlight just to register a shot on goal.
