Riley Gaines recently took a dig at a transgender athlete for competing against women at the Oregon Track and Field State Championships. Aayden Gallagher, a transgender athlete from McDaniel High School, dominated the girls' 400m event at the meet, thus securing a spot for the final.

Gallagher topped the semifinals of the 400m after posting a time of 56.14 seconds ahead of the Roosevelt High School junior Ellie Heslam, who posted 56.37 seconds. Furthermore, in the girls' 200m semifinal event, the athlete finished in second place after clocking a time of 24.49 seconds, only 0.17 slower than Roosevelt High School sophomore Aster Jones, who recorded 24.32 seconds.

On Wednesday, May 15, Gallagher clinched a berth in the finals of both events at the Portland Interscholastic League Championships, which will be held at the Lincoln High School. If Gallagher emerges victorious in the finals, the transgender athlete will advance to compete at the State Championships.

The Oregon School Activities Association (OSAA) allows athletes to compete on the basis of their gender identity. Gaines, who has been a constant critic of transgender athletes competing against women shared the video of the race on X and urged the coaches and parents to stand up against the incident.

"Aayden Gallagher (male) dominates his heat of the women's 400m this morning at the Oregon Track & Field State Championships," Gaines wrote on X. "He will run in the state championship final tomorrow. When will we see coaches and parents standing up to this mockery?"

Riley Gaines recently criticized President Joe Biden's administration on International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia after he shared a message, showing support for the LGBTQ community.

The International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, and Transphobia was observed on May 17, 2024 to raise awareness of the LGBTQ rights violation, discrimination, and repression of LGBT communities worldwide.

Taking the opportunity of the day, President Biden expressed his solidarity with the LGBTQ community, to which Gaines expressed her dissent, saying,

"Another fictional day made up by the Biden Admin to remind all heterosexual people (especially the white ones) that we are the ultimate oppressors. Shocker," Gaines wrote on X.

Earlier this year, Gaines, along with other college and female athletes, took legal action against Biden's administration following the revision in the policies of Title IX.
