Phaedra Parks, The Real Housewives of Atlanta star, recently opened up about the finalization of her divorce from her ex-husband, Apollo Nida. Speaking to PEOPLE at the West Hollywood grand opening of the Beverly Hills rejuvenation, Parks expressed relief at moving past the divorce and feeling at peace.

Parks revealed how she was on good terms with Nida even though their marriage didn't work out. She also mentioned that she has started dating again, although she was in no rush for a commitment. The Bravo star further said—

"I'm dating. The thing is I'm single and satisfied. I'm not one of those women that thinks their life depends on a man."

Phaedra Parks married Apollo Nida in 2009 and first came to the public eye in 2011 when she joined the cast of TRHOA (season 3) as a housewife. The revelation of Nida's involvement in identity theft, mail fraud, wire fraud, and bank fraud in 2014 eventually led to the couple's divorce.

Talking about putting her marriage and The Real Housewives of Atlanta behind her, Phaedra Parks shared with PEOPLE—

"I think you can be aged by your surroundings. Being on terrible shows with terrible women, being in terrible marriages that will age you. So once I got off a terrible show and got out of a terrible marriage and had my wonderful children - I could focus on myself and not on all the bullsh**."

Phaedra Parks initially filed for divorce from Nida in 2015, a year after he was pledged guilty on all charges pressed against him and sentenced to eight years of prison. He was also charged a restitution of $1.9 million.

Their divorce was finalized in 2017, and since then, Parks has been casually dating, according to PEOPLE.

The magazine also confirmed the news of Parks and Nida's reunion on the 10th season of Married to Medicine in March. Parks joined the cast of the Bravo TV series in 2023.

This was the first time the couple had shared the screen since their divorce in 2017. Speaking to Us Weekly about the reunion, Parks revealed that she was the one who invited Apollo Nida to it, further saying—

"I invited Apollo to come because there was a lot of speculation that we had a confrontational relationship. We don't."

The actress also mentioned how they were "always going to be friends," regardless of the divorce. The magazine also reported how, after the divorce, Parks and Nida have continued to co-parent their sons, Ayden, 13, and Dylan, 10.

Parks comments on supporting Brandi Glanville openly after the RHUGT drama

During the Beverly Hills rejuvenation opening, Phaedra Parks commented on her stance on the strife between Andy Cohen and Brandi Glanville from The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip.

Parks starred in TRHUGT season 2 alongside Glanville and finished filming its Peacock spinoff series in January 2023. Talking about showing support for her pal amid the allegations of sexual harassment from Caroline Manzo to Page Six, Parks said—

"It's never going to be awkward because I'm always going to be honest and truthful."

Referring to her time at the TRHOA back around the time of her divorce from Nida, Parks shared how she wished someone stuck up for her the way she was sticking up for Glanville. The actress, 50, further said—

"I'm ride or die for real. Because at the end of the day, man cannot promote me. Only God can promote me."

Brandi Glanville, also present at the opening, spoke to Page Six about being grateful for Phaedra Parks, who lent her a shoulder to lean on "throughout the ordeal." The actress made it clear that she would understand if Parks avoided public association with her, given her dynamic with Bravo and Cohen.

Glanville recalled a recent conversation with the attorney, saying—

"I was saying to Phaedra like, 'Listen, we don't have to take pictures together. We don't have to do anything.' She's like, 'You're my friend'."

Later in her conversation with Page Six, Glanville also revealed how she thought Parks deserved to get paid more at Bravo. The actress also hinted at an unscripted series with Parks being in the works.
