Actress Claudia Jessie played the character of free-minded Eloise in the Netflix historical romance series, Bridgerton. As part 1 of season 3 dropped on May 16, 2024, fans got to see Eloise becoming one of the protagonists, with rumors stating that she could become the major focal point of the story in season 4.

Regardless, while Jessie has undoubtedly risen to fame as a result of Bridgerton, she has previously appeared in a range of stellar shows. This includes the classic Doctor Who, in which she had a cameo role in a single episode.

As fans await the second part of Bridgerton season 3, let's take a look at five other projects that the actress has starred in.

5 TV series and movies apart from Birdgerton that Claudia Jessie has appeared in

Fans might be surprised to know that Claudia Jessie has previously featured in the famous series, Doctor Who, starring David Tennant. The 34-year-old actress only appeared in episode 7 of season 11 titled Kerblam!

Jessie played the role of Kira Arlo and did not get a chance to reprise it. Since her screen time was short in the series, it is considered one of the least-known on-screen appearances of the actress.

2) Line of Duty

Created by Jed Mercurio, Line of Duty is inspired by real-world stories of various police corruption cases. Claudia Jessie portrayed the role of Jodie Taylor through the entirety of the fourth season.

Appearing in a total of 6 episodes, she was involved in an intricate storyline in which she was forced to expose a crime committed by members of her own team. Jessie’s role was again short-lived, but she did appear in multiple scenes alongside stars such as Martin Compston and Vicky McClure and even had a romantic arc that the creators never concluded.

3) Their Finest

Jessie’s acting skills were on full display when she played the dual role of Doris Cleavely and Lily Starling in the 2016 British comedy film titled Their Finest. However, it was later revealed in this wartime drama that Doris Cleavely was living a dual life.

Starring Gemma Arterton and Sam Claflin in titular roles, the official synopsis of the 2016 movie reads on Amazon Prime Video:

"A young woman (Gemma) plays an unlikely role in inspiring WWII Britain when she takes a job as a script writer on a major propaganda film."

4) Detectorists

Another surprising cameo by Claudia Jessie was when she featured in a single episode of the hit BBC Four sitcom, Detectorists (2014-2022). This British comedy series saw Jessie essay the role of Doctor Hoffman in season 3 episode 2. She was a surgeon living in the fictional town of Danebury in north Essex.

The show in itself revolved around small-town quirks and focused on two friends who spent their time detecting metal in the countryside of North Essex. Jessie’s performance, although a cameo, eventually led to her role in Doctor Who.

5) Defending the Guilty

Just like Bridgerton, Defending the Guilty is another series in which Claudia Jessie plays a prominent role as Nessa. Her character is shown as an ambitious barrister who struggles to traverse the various obstacles of the British legal system.

The official synopsis reads:

"Idealistic Will is on a crash course with reality as he defends dodgy clients and competes for the job of his dreams - or nightmares."

Playing the role of a young yet talented lawyer, Jessie proved her acting mettle through the 2019 series, which was produced by BBC Four.

The above 5 roles have all come before Claudia Jessie's portrayal of Eloise in Bridgerton. Stay tuned for season 3 part 2 of the Netflix hit series that is slated to premiere on June 13, 2024.
