Kanye West released a brand-new song titled Cousins on April 21, 2025, via the social networking site X. He shared a 2-minute and 17-second blurry music video alongside a caption claiming he had an incestuous relationship with one of his relatives.

In the wake of Kanye's now-viral post that amassed 10.2 million views at the time of writing, internet personality and makeup artist Jeffree Star shared a tweet on April 22, 2025, that earned 1.8 million views.
“Ok f**k it… The rumors were true,” Jeffree wrote.
While Star didn't mention who/ what he was talking about, his post has stirred renewed interest in a claim surrounding him and Ye that originally surfaced in early 2021.

At the time, social media users began claiming that Jeffree and Kanye were reportedly having an affair, which seemingly led to his divorce from Kim Kardashian. However, the beauty guru refuted the rumor in a January 2021 YouTube video titled "Addressing The Kanye Situation."
Back then, Jeffree Star called the claim "weird" and "stupid," adding he only liked "very tall men." In June of that year, he also told Entertainment Tonight during an interview that he thought the situation was "hilarious."
Star added:
"I love rumors. I think they're funny, but some girl on TikTok made it up and it went viral before I even knew."
More about Jeffree Star’s past remarks about Kanye
In a YouTube video dated January 8, 2021, Jeffree Star addressed the rumor that he was having an alleged affair with Kanye West. He began his video by sharing with his friend Chris how his phone had been "blowing up" with texts, calls, and pings from news outlets about the "dumbest sh*t I think I've ever read in my life."
Jeffree mentioned that while he was confused about how he got to the "moment," his friends pointed out that he and Ye both lived in Wyoming. Admitting that it was a possibility, Star added:
"I guess some girl, uh, made up a whole lie on TikTok and it went viral, um, where she insinuates Kanye and Kim are getting divorced because a big male beauty influencer is, uh, sleeping with him."
The beauty guru shared that he was "single" and was trying to "live his life," adding that the viral video showing him allegedly leaving Kardashian's house was him exiting a Louis Vuitton store.
"Let me just say this one time for any news outlet, uh, I like very tall men. Me and Kanye, uh, have never hung out, and this whole thing is really funny… And if Kris Jenner orchestrated this thing, 'Happy New Year, sweet girl,'" Jeffree shared.
He doubled down that he wasn't "sleeping" with anybody, especially not Kanye. Star further explained that the rumor may have emerged from a 2009 song called B*tch Please, where he mentioned Ye. However, he added that the track also had the names of several other celebrities.
Jeffree Star concluded that while he never met West, he once attended one of his concerts. Subsequently, in June 2021, he sat with Entertainment Tonight and denied the rumor.
He explained that his mother informed him about the viral claim because he didn't immediately grab his phone after waking up. Instead, Star enjoyed the weather, took his dogs out, did a little exercise, and prepared for the day. However, he didn't even get to Twitter or Instagram the morning the news broke.
"I just saw my mom going, 'What the hell is this?'… She's like, 'Are you not telling me something?' And I'm like, 'What are you talking about?' And I clicked it and I was like, 'Oh, got it.' So, it was hilarious," Jeffree stated.
The makeup influencer quipped that the Donda maker wasn't his type but was open to professional collaboration. He also dismissed the claim during an interview with US Weekly and a podcast appearance with Logan Paul.
Notably, the rumor that Jeffree Star was having an alleged affair with Kanye West, leading to his divorce from Kim Kardashian, first surfaced when TikToker Ava Louise posted it in January 2021.
"Kanye's been hooking up with a very famous beauty guru, male beauty guru. A lot of people in the scene have known for a while," Louise claimed.
She further continued:
"I can't say WHO cuz he'll sue me hint hint but it's part of the reason Kanye's so religious now it's his self-hatred… my source is legit I promise."
At the time, an insider told E! News that there was "absolutely no truth" to the rumor. Meanwhile, Ava Louise also later admitted the claim was made up.
More about Kanye’s latest song, Cousins
On Monday, Ye dropped his newest single, Cousins, and claimed it was inspired by a childhood experience where he reportedly shared a s*xual encounter with one of his cousins.
"This song is called COUSINS about my cousin that's locked in jail for life for killing a pregnant lady a few years after I told him we wouldn't 'look at dirty magazines together' anymore," the post read.
Ye continued to write that it was perhaps his "fault" generated out of a "self-centered mess" that he showed his cousin "those dirty magazines when he was 6," adding, "we acted out what we saw."
"My dad had Playboy magazines, but the magazines I found at the top of my mom's closet were different. My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d**k till I was 14. Tweet sent," the caption ended.
It remains undisclosed who the cousin is.

Meanwhile, the information from his caption also appears in Cousins, where he claimed he told his "cousin not to tell nobody."
"People tell me take it to my grave: 'Truth will set you free someday.' I don't think they understand that I'm not attracted to a man," the song reads.
The music video features gun violence, explicit clips, home footage, and a burning cross, among others. Notably, Ye talked about loving his cousin who was "locked up for murder" during an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in August 2018 while endorsing Donald Trump for the presidency.
"He did a bad thing, but I still love him," West shared.
Kim, too, talked about her former husband's cousin serving a "double life sentence for murder when he was 17" during her meeting with Marc M. Howard, president of the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice organization, in April 2020.
West was married to Kardashian from 2014 to 2021, and they have three children: North, 11, Saint, 9, and Psalm, 5.
