4 possible finishes for Randy Orton vs. Tama Tonga on WWE SmackDown next week: Viper strike, a huge return & more

Randy Orton and Tama Tonga punched their tickets to the semifinals of the King of the Ring Tournament on the latest episode of SmackDown. The winner will represent the blue brand in the finals of the tournament in Saudi Arabia.

Tonga defeated LA Knight in his quarterfinal match while The Viper overcame newcomer Carmelo Hayes in the main event of SmackDown.

Despite falling to the third round in the 2024 WWE Draft, The Bloodline could have the next King of the Ring in its ranks. The semifinal showdown between Randy Orton and Tama Tonga on next week's SmackDown could play out in one of the next four ways.

#4. Tama Tonga gets a big win over Randy Orton

Due to the heated nature of the pairing between Orton and Tonga, a clean finish doesn't seem likely. The two warring sides hate each other and went to war in a street fight at Backlash France.

The Bloodline isn't known for staying out of matches as evidenced by Tama's match with LA Knight. Sikoa briefly distracted The Megastar, allowing The MFT to pick up a big win.

It would be a marquee singles win without outside help and show that Tama Tonga can beat a legend like Orton through his merit.

#3. Randy Orton beats Tama Tonga on next week's SmackDown

If GM Nick Aldis wants a clean finish, he could ban The Bloodline from ringside. It would provide an even footing for an important match under the GM's watch.

He's already seen how explosive a feud between The Bloodline and Orton can be, so he might ban Tonga's allies to ensure a clean win.

Announcers keep mentioning how Orton has never won a King of the Ring tournament, so getting a clean win would help that legacy. It would also provide Saudi Arabia a final with a multi-time WWE Champion.

#2. Bloodline interference nets Tama Tonga the win

Throughout its existence, interference has been a staple of Bloodline matches. Solo Sikoa and the Usos regularly interfered to help preserve Roman Reigns' lengthy title run.

Outside interference can also protect the loser and provide grounds for the feud to continue. Since Sikoa and Tonga Loa already factored into Tama's match on SmackDown, they could easily do so again next week.

It would give Orton an excuse to potentially cost Tama Tonga in the finals. A dirty win thanks to the Bloodline could also lead to another huge brawl at Clash at the Castle.

#1. Kevin Owens returns to help Randy Orton win

Kevin Owens and Randy Orton have been allies for the last few months.
Kevin Owens and Randy Orton have been allies for the last few months.

While Orton and Tama Tonga have been part of the King of the Ring tournament, Kevin Owens has not. He was hurt during the Street Fight between the two sides at Backlash: France.

Owens' return is likely being saved for a big moment, and that moment could be during next week's SmackDown. It would be payback for his injury at Backlash and another wrinkle in the evolution of the new Bloodline.

The Viper's feud with The Bloodline isn't going to end any time soon, and the SmackDown match is being used to further that feud. Interference from Owens could help Randy Orton advance to the King of the Ring finals.
