5 epic storylines that can be used to end Kurt Angle's WWE career

How would WWE conclude the career of one of their greatest wrestlers?
How would WWE conclude the career of one of their greatest wrestlers?

Kurt Angle is a man who won an Olympic gold medal with a broken neck, a superstar who gave multiple memorable matches at WrestleMania, a WWE Hall of Famer, but what every wrestling fan fails to notice is that he is a human being, whose body parts age with time.

Angle is no longer the same superstar that he used to be a few years ago, yet he is trying his best to entertain his fans in 2019 by performing in the ring. He has been involved in a rivalry with Baron Corbin for quite a while now on RAW, yet that feud has not had a memorable moment.

This feud can be hailed as the worst feud of Kurt Angle's career, and I think it would have been better had Angle never returned to the ring after entering the WWE Hall of Fame.

He has not impressed the fans with his performances at Survivor Series, the WWE World Cup, and on RAW lately. So, in my opinion, it would be right if Kurt Angle decides to hang his boots at WrestleMania 35. The only question here is how will his legendary tenure as a WWE wrestler conclude?

#5 Destroyed, damaged, and demolished by McIntyre and Corbin

This seems the way WWE is headed. Either of Drew McIntyre or Baron Corbin could end the legend's WWE career at WrestleMania 35.

Both heels need a huge push before entering the main event picture - retiring someone like Kurt Angle at the Grandest Stage will give them new momentum in the post WrestleMania season.

With Seth Rollins expected to win the Universal Championship at WrestleMania 35, Drew McIntyre or Baron Corbin can feud with the Architect.

#4 A legendary career vs the Almighty

Bobby Lashley and Kurt Angle both have had stints in TNA, and they have battled each other in that promotion. Looking at the current situation in the WWE, a feud between Bobby Lashley and Kurt Angle can be pulled off.

Finn Balor is currently feuding with Lashley, but with the Almighty expected to retain his gold for a longer time, WWE can plan an Intercontinental Championship feud between Angle and Lashley for WrestleMania.

Retiring Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 35 would give a massive push to Lashley's on-screen character. Also, the Intercontinental Championship match will get a respectable position on the WrestleMania match card, which would elevate the title's prestige.

It's a win-win situation for the WWE, as they can hit multiple targets with just one shot by booking Kurt Angle vs Bobby Lashley in a career vs title match at WrestleMania 35.

#3 The Legend Killer returns

An inter-brand rivalry can light up WrestleMania 35

Randy Orton has returned to his vicious side, and the Viper has already tried to end the careers of Jeff Hardy and Rey Mysterio thus far. However, he has not retired any superstar, and truth be told, there is no superstar on the SmackDown roster who is on the verge of retirement.

So, it would be great if the WWE books Kurt Angle, a legend on the verge of retirement, as Randy Orton's WrestleMania opponent.

Randy Orton and Kurt Angle can have a memorable WrestleMania feud with the Legend Killer, ending the Olympic gold medalist's career at the Grandest Stage. Orton can show up on the RAW after WrestleMania, saying he has switched his brand, and could even call out the incoming Universal Champion, Seth Rollins, to kick-start an epic rivalry.

#2 The last hunt for championship gold

What if Seth Rollins is not cleared and Kurt Angle takes his place?

Seth Rollins vs Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship has been confirmed for WrestleMania 35, but currently, Rollins is recovering from an injury.

There is a slight chance the Kingslayer may not be fit for his match against Lesnar, and in that circumstance, WWE can decide to have Kurt Angle take Rollins' place, and could announce a career vs title match for WrestleMania 35.

With Brock Lesnar's Universal title reign supposedly ending at WrestleMania, this match-up would keep the fans guessing. Will Lesnar retain the gold and end Angle's career or will Angle script an epic victory at the Grandest Stage? The stakes would be high, and this is the kind of send-off a legend like Kurt Angle deserves.

WWE can either have Lesnar end Angle's career or can have Angle win the title at WrestleMania, just to relinquish it by retiring the next night.

#1 A last run with the United States Championship

The title needs Angle more than Angle needs it

Kurt Angle is known to be one of the most patriotic superstars in the WWE, and so the company can use a United States Championship storyline to end Angle's career. The US title is in its worst condition ever. WWE Creative have had no plans for the title whatsoever. This could change if Kurt Angle is inserted in the US title picture.

The WWE Creative team can have Kurt Angle bid farewell to RAW after multiple defeats to Corbin and McIntyre, which will force him to join the Land of Opportunity, SmackDown Live. Kurt Angle would qualify for a multi-man ladder match for the WrestleMania PPV on an episode of SmackDown Live. Then at WrestleMania 35, he will capture the US title in what will be an iconic moment.

Angle would hold the gold for 4-5 months and would feud with some of the top stars of the blue brand. Finally, around SummerSlam, a new heel from NXT (Adam Cole or Aleister Black) would join SmackDown Live and start a feud with Angle.

They will collide in a title match at SummerSlam which would see the crowning of a new champion, and the next Tuesday on SmackDown, the Olympic gold medalist can say goodbye to the WWE Universe, saying that he fulfilled his dream of winning the United States Championship at this stage of his career, and has no more ambitions in WWE.

Having this storyline on SmackDown would improve the show's ratings, and also raise the US title to newer heights.
