5 Surprises that could take place in WWE in March

We are just a few days away from the final stop before WrestleMania which is Fastlane. So far, WWE has been successful in creating hype for their weekly shows. This week as well we saw an amazing episode of Raw and Smackdown.

Not only did Roman Reigns and Batista returned on Raw, but Kevin Owens also returned to SmackDown Live this week. Now, we can say that this month was great for WWE but what's in for us for next month?

The WrestleMania is waiting for us and I'm sure WWE will try to give many surprises to the fans. After all, it is what benefits them the most. Let's take a look at 5 ways WWE could surprise us in March.

(Note: I'm not going to include Batista vs Triple H at Mania in this list and it has been discussed a lot of times in last 48 hours.)

#5 Kofi Kingston gets a Mania match against Daniel Bryan

This week's Smackdown Live shocked the fans. Vince McMahon returned to the show but what he did wasn't that great. He removed Kofi Kingston from his WWE Championship match against Daniel Bryan at Fastlane. Then, he announced that Kevin Owens would replace him as the new contender for the championship.

It is great that Owens returned to WWE after many months but this sudden change is questionable. Owens didn't earn this match as it was provided to him by the Chairman for nothing in exchange.

However, maybe WWE has something big for Kofi Kingston. It is possible that they are saving this big money match for WrestleMania and if it's true then the fans will be okay McMahon's decision. We just have to wait and see how things will turn out for the 11-year old WWE veteran.

#4 John Cena returns and faces a big NXT Superstar at Mania

Who will face John Cena at WrestleMania?

The connection between John Cena and WWE is solid. Whenever WWE needs him, Cena will return and play his part. He has been the face of the company for many years but now, he is transitioning into a Hollywood actor.

Cena fought his last match in WWE on Monday Night Raw last month where he was defeated by Finn Balor. He has been working with the WWE on a part-time basis from some time but we could expect his return next month. WrestleMania is a big show and WWE will try their best to make this show as exciting as possible and I feel that Cena's return is vital.

There have been some talks that Cena will work at Mania but his opponent is not fixed yet. However, I believe that either Lars Sullivan or EC3 could be Cena's opponent. Sullivan is currently on a hiatus and we don't know when he will return. If he can't return on time then EC3 could fight with him.

#3 Becky Lynch gets reinstated to the Raw Women's Championship match

This week on Monday Night Raw, Becky Lynch again attacked the Raw Women's Champion, Ronda Rousey. Everyone expected her to spoil Ric Flair's birthday celebration but it didn't happen. Instead, she got arrested for breaking the terms of her suspension.

A few weeks ago, Vince McMahon replaced Lynch from the Raw Women's Championship match at Mania and added Charlotte Flair instead. However, it is almost confirmed that Lynch will get reinstated to this big match as this is what the fans want.

There is still some time left for WrestleMania but if the WWE want this rivalry to be great when they have to speed up things. Currently, Lynch is the most over Superstar in WWE and according to some reports, she is the chosen one. This all means just one thing that Lynch will somehow find her way back to the WrestleMania main event scene.

#2 Sami Zayn becomes the reason for Kevin Owens' loss

Even though Kevin Owens will face Daniel Bryan at WWE Fastlane, it doesn't mean that he will defeat him. I believe that Kofi Kingston will face Bryan at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. And if that's going to happen then Owens will have to lose.

However, Fastlane is going to be Owens' first pay-per-view since his return and a clean loss could genuinely affect his momentum. If you remember then there are one more Superstars whose return is still pending. And, that Superstar is Sami Zayn.

Many fans assumed that both Superstars will not work together after their return and right now, this is what seems likely. However, even if they are not going to work together, they can work against each other.

Zayn and Owens feuded with each other many times and their rivalry was liked by everyone. It is possible that Zayn could return and cost Owens his match against Bryan. Zayn could be a heel in this rivalry whereas The Prizefighter could be a face.

#1 The Shield reunite again to save Dean Ambrose

Roman Reigns returned to Monday Night Raw this week and provided an update on his health and according to him, his Leukemia is in remission. This means that it will take only a few weeks/months before Reigns could fight in the ring.

However, from what I've seen on Social Media and Raw, I think that Reigns' next return could happen to be sooner than later. This week, McIntyre, Elias, Corbin, and Lashley attacked Ambrose but The Shield saved him.

Even though it was a reunion from Reigns and Rollins' side, Ambrose didn't completely unite with them. According to the Wrestling Observer Radio, the next Shield reunion is set to happen at the Fastlane PPV. Meltzer noted that Braun Strowman (along with The Shield) could face Corbin, McIntyre, Elias, and Lashley in an 8-man tag team match.

There's still an episode of Raw left and if it happens then the WWE Universe will be more than happy.
