Although John Cena's return to WWE is great, it highlights a fundamental problem with the company that is inherent to RAW and SmackDown. Even though it's been able to create immortal figures and characters in the past, it hasn't been able to do so for a long time now.

That said, WWE is certainly not lacking in talent at all. There are quite a few superstars who could certainly rise to the main event spot and become the face of the company if they're booked right.

#5 WWE SmackDown star Finn Balor

Finn Balor is almost there! The good news is that WWE has come to terms with the fact that even though he may not necessarily be the biggest dog in the fight, there's just an X-factor that Balor has that makes him stand out. It may also be that every time he smiles, many a woman has been known to go weak in the knees.

The only reason he's so very low on this list is that he's 40 years old. While that is by no means an age where a performer hangs up his boots, the others may have a lot more years to etch their names as top stars. That said, Balor's best run may still be awaiting him on SmackDown, considering he's being booked with top stars.

Yes, he's a lot smaller than the prototypical face of WWE. But he's got every other ingredient you'd want in a top star for the company!

#4 WWE SmackDown Women's Champion Bianca Belair

Bianca Belair is the only female WWE Superstar on this list. While Rhea Ripley would have been a worthy candidate right after WrestleMania, her booking has really done her no favors at all.

Belair is almost certainly the most physically dominant superstar among the females, as she proved by carrying Otis over her shoulders like he weighed nothing. She also has a great look, can definitely go in the ring, has a great gimmick in the braid, and when she's not spouting memorized lines, a pretty decent promo as well!

#3 WWE NXT Superstar Adam Cole (Baybay)

Adam Cole is one of the best wrestlers in the world, but that's not all he brings to the WWE product. He has a unique look, and there's just something about him that screams 'cool dude', that appeals to fans, young and old.

It remains to be seen how well the man does following his NXT run. Truth be told, the sky is definitely the limit if the company recognizes his potential.

WWE RAW Superstar Riddle sat down with Sportskeeda Wrestling recently and had a lot of interesting things to say. Do check it out and subscribe to the channel for more exciting content of this nature. He'll convince you that he's ready to be the next face of the company.

Not only does Riddle have a great look, but he's entertaining. WWE calls itself sports entertainment for a reason. A superstar may be great in the ring, but can he/she/they keep the viewer hooked?

#1 WWE SmackDown Superstar Big E

The coronation of Big E isn't too far away.

Whether he cashes in on Bobby Lashley or Goldberg to become the WWE Champion or on Roman Reigns/John Cena to become the Universal Champion, the man has gold in his future for sure.

But when it is necessary to dial back and be serious, Big E can do that too. He truly is one of a kind.
