5 WWE superstars who will suffer the most at WrestleMania 35

WrestleMania is the biggest show of the year, and it's the show that has the most eyes on it. It's also important not only from a revenue standpoint, but from a creative one. WWE's season essentially starts on the RAW after WrestleMania, and with all that happens and builds up at the grandest stage of them all, it certainly determines the direction that will be taken for the coming year or even more.

This WrestleMania is a very important one, because we have not one, nor two, but three incredible babyface challengers in Becky Lynch, Kofi Kingston, and Seth Rollins set for a major coronation. However, as we've seen in the past with WWE, not everything is going to go as we expect, and there are going to be certain decisions which will bewilder fans for a while and even frustrate them.

While we hope that WWE makes the right decisions, not all superstars are going to walk out favourably. Here are superstars who may be walking out of WrestleMania 35 worse than they came in.

#5. Braun Strowman

Braun Strowman really has no luck during WrestleMania season. He's one of, if not the most pushed superstars in the company, but with a one-day RAW Tag Title reign, his resume certainly has nothing to show for.

Even at WrestleMania, it always seems as though WWE has no plans for him, and this year is no different. While he should ideally be in a title feud (even a midcard one), instead, he's stuck in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and is feuding with Saturday Night Live's Colin Jost and Michael Che.

That's certainly a downgrade for someone who was just in the Universal Championship picture some time ago. He may not even win the battle royal, and even if he does, there's little to no consequence, because past winners haven't benefited from it.

#4. Baron Corbin

While it feels like Corbin got the short end of the stick, the reality is that next to no one wants to see him face Kurt Angle in his farewell match, and even WWE knows this. They knew this well before making the match, but they decided to go through with it anyway.

While it may have seemed like WWE was poised to replace Corbin at WrestleMania, the latest programming seems to suggest that they very much intend to have Corbin be Angle's final opponent.

With Angle far past his physical prime and Corbin being nowhere near him on the level of an in-ring performer, the retirement match may end up being a stinker of all sorts, and one that the fans view as a bathroom break.

It's a shame because it does no justice to Angle nor does it do so to Corbin. Even if he wins, he may not progress up the ladder as WWE might hope he will.

#3. Dean Ambrose

Any hopes that fans had about Dean Ambrose leaving WWE being a work are essentially gone at this point. There was a lot of hope that Ambrose has renewed his contract with WWE, but from the way things are going, there's no plan for him at WrestleMania whatsoever.

While we understand that WWE may not want to book someone that everyone know is leaving, it's a shame because it's an injustice to all that Ambrose has given to the company. He was the iron man of the company, going years without falling sick, years without injury and years on top of the card.

He's still a main eventer in the eyes of fans, and he deserves a good farewell before he leaves WWE. It would be an emotional moment, but the fact that he has nothing going for him certainly doesn't give him a good look.

Either way, if someone doesn't want to stay, they can't be forced.

#2. Elias

For the second year in a row, Elias has nothing going for him at WrestleMania, which doesn't truly reflect how much he was pushed. With that being said, the end of 2018 saw him somewhat mellow down, turning babyface before WWE quickly turned him heel again.

Perhaps they felt as though Elias as a babyface wasn't working, but even then, he's being featured as the "lead musical act" of WrestleMania. While it'll likely be a nice little segment featuring the return of some legend, it doesn't do justice to his level of talent.

Elias is the kind of superstar who should atleast be in one of the multi-man title matches, if not something bigger. We understand that not everyone can be a main eventer, but WWE is openly showing that they have no plans whatsoever for Elias, and that doesn't give him a good look.

Moreover, he'll likely get humiliated by a legend, ending the night flat on his back.

#1. Seth Rollins

“Now, I have to beat Brock Lesnar because I refuse to let Brock Lesnar be the champion that defines the future of this industry,” Rollins says.

We understand that this looks like a bizarre entry on this list, but this will be the case if and only if Brock Lesnar retains the championship. Sadly, there's a much higher chance of that happening than most people would like to admit.

For one, WWE may not want to have three different coronations at one night. Just for the swerve, they may have Lesnar retain, and that alone will completely flatten the ambience at WrestleMania.

Another major reason why Seth Rollins may lose is the fact that Roman Reigns is back in contention. You know that it's only a matter of time before he challenges for the Universal Championship again, and WWE may want to hold back on Seth Rollins winning the title so that Roman Reigns can once again be the superstar to dethrone Brock Lesnar.

If this does happen, it'll damage over a year of hard work that Seth Rollins put in to rise to the top again.
