When Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40, not only did he win the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, but he also started a new era in WWE. Since becoming champion, Rhodes has successfully defended his title once against AJ Styles at WWE Backlash in France.

However, weeks after his successful outing in the European country, The American Nightmare will defend his belt against Logan Paul at WWE King and Queen of the Ring in a Champion vs Champion match. Heading into the bout, Rhodes is a massive favorite to win.

If Logan wants to beat the champion, then he will have to think out of the box. A possible involvement from one of Cody Rhodes' former rivals might help Logan. The rival in question is Nick Aldis. The SmackDown GM could probably guide Logan to victory.

Cody Rhodes and Nick Aldis have a history

Before returning to WWE at WrestleMania 38, Cody Rhodes was busy building a name for himself by wrestling in different promotions. During this time, Rhodes crossed paths with Nick Aldis for the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Championship. The duo faced each other twice.

While Cody won the first outing and became the NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion, Aldis won the second fight and got his title back. Hence, given the history between them, it would be perfect to see Aldis restart his feud with Rhodes in WWE.

At WWE King and Queen of the Ring 2024, the promotion can show an angle where Nick Aldis costs Cody Rhodes his title. While everyone will wonder why did Aldis do something like that, it can be later revealed that Logan paid him off and promised him a title opportunity in the near future.

Given the British superstar is a GM, he can't put himself into a match. Hence, this is the best possible way he can achieve a title shot and potentially begin his in-ring career in WWE.

Since beating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship and moving to SmackDown, Rhodes has arguably established himself as the man on the blue brand. This fact is something that can hurt Nick Aldis' image as SmackDown GM.

Hence, to prove to Rhodes that he is the man in-charge of Friday Nights, Aldis could plot a massive strategy against Rhodes which could see him lose to Logan Paul at WWE King and Queen of the Ring. In the coming weeks, it will be interesting to see if the promotion does something along these lines.
