From the WWE Rumor Mill: AJ Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura to compete in an Iron Man match at MITB?

St
Styles vs Nakamura

What's the story?

As per the rumor roundup on Cageside seats, it is being speculated that the AJ Styles vs Shinsuke Nakamura match which will be taking place at Money In The Bank PPV might have the Iron Man stipulation.

In case you didn't know...

Shinsuke Nakamura and the current WWE Champion AJ Styles have been involved in a rivalry ever since Nakamura won the Royal Rumble match and challenged Styles for his WWE Championship at Wrestlemania.

Nakamura delivered a devastating low-blow to Styles after he was unsuccessful at defeating The Phenomenal One at Wrestlemania, effectively turning heel.

The two have gone on to have two more matches and their last encounter at Backlash--which was a NO DQ match-- saw a double count end the match in a no contest after both men failed to get to their feet till the count of 10.

The heart of the matter

It was being speculated that the next match between Aj Styles and Shinsuke Nakamura which will take place at MITB will be held under last man standing rules. But now there seems to be a talk of having the match as an ironman match.

An Iron Man match would mean that the two competitors will have a match for a pre-fixed amount of time (i.e 1 hour or 30 mins) and the winner of the match would be the Superstar who can gain the maximum amount of pins or submissions against his opponent during that time.

What's next?

Money In The Bank will take place on 17th June and although Shane McMahon has made the official via Twitter, a stipulation has not yet been added.

Author's take

I would personally prefer a last man standing stipulation as it will be in-line with the story and in continuity with their last match which ended with a double count out. It will also be a better choice for a decisive winner to emerge.
