Daredevil high-flyers are a dying breed and it’s no small amount of fondness that the WWE Universe has for its resident aerial assault tag-team, The Lucha Dragons. The masked flyers have been a part of many exciting tag-team contests, a few of them involving the gold, but have come up short.
The Lucha Dragons have defeated the incumbent champions, The New Day, in non-title matches a few times, but have failed to translate that success into gold. This week’s SmackDown was no different, as the masked acrobats came from behind and pulled off a blinder against the champs.

The New Day’s showboating cost them the match, as The Lucha Dragons timed their double-team to perfection and Kalisto pinned Kofi Kingston for the win. But The New Day might pay dearly for their moment of vanity, as The Lucha Dragons have been rewarded with a shot at the titles on next week’s SmackDown.
