Cody Rhodes was the first person to come out on the RAW after Backlash 2023. It was clear that he was looking forward to the World Heavyweight Title tournament. However, right before the first match of the tournament began, Cody Rhodes referenced AEW and came across a bitter old rival in Seth Rollins.

The RAW after Backlash was booked at Jacksonville, Florida, the home of AEW. He acknowledged that time, stating that they made a lot of memories together back then, and it was his home during the pandemic.

After this, he made it clear that his priority was winning the World Heavyweight Title. Ahead of his Triple Threat match against Finn Balor and The Miz, Rhodes walked to the back.

The opening tournament match featured Damian Priest vs. Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Seth Rollins. However, when The Visionary came out for the bout, he had a face-off with his former rival Cody Rhodes.

Seth Rollins might be a face now, but he didn't seem to have fully gotten over the trilogy of losses to The American Nightmare last year. The two are yet to have a singles match, and it will be interesting to see how things play out.
