A new study conducted to determine the most influential current and former WWE stars has brought up some startling results. Surprisingly, several names are ranked higher than the most prominent name at the moment, Roman Reigns.

The research took into account a superstar's Google search volumes, social media followings, and Wikipedia page views, which are the metrics that determine one's popularity in the modern era.

It should surprise nobody that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson topped the list as, besides being one of the greatest WWE Superstars ever, he has also gained a reputation for being a massive draw in Hollywood for over a decade.

Coming in second is another wrestler-turned-actor, John Cena, who has quickly caught up with The Rock as a dependable name in showbiz.

Logan Paul, despite only competing in a handful of matches for WWE, follows the Hollywood megastars in the third spot, and it adds up because The Maverick made a name for himself as a social media personality.

For those wondering where Roman Reigns stands amongst the most influential wrestlers, The Tribal Chief is presently at #7, with the likes of Nikki Bella, Triple H, and Ronda Rousey overtaking him in the rankings.

A spokesperson from the website who accumulated the data commented on the outcome and explained how pro wrestlers could expand their brand to unimaginable levels after they end their in-ring careers.

“While it can be argued that many ex-wrestlers have built a strong platform post their wrestling career, like in the case of The Rock, the sheer followings on social media for those still currently active shows how good of a reach wrestling has" noted the spokesperson. "Additionally, the strong social followings here also provide a pathway for many wrestlers to earn and grow outside of the competition, with brand deals and more.”

The Bloodline saga in WWE is expected to get more chaotic, involving Roman Reigns and The Usos

It's interesting to note that Roman Reigns is the only active wrestler from the rankings that still hasn't completely transitioned to a new career, even though that has also been rumored to happen soon.

The Samoan superstar is currently embroiled in a compelling storyline involving his Bloodline stablemates. As announced on SmackDown, Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa will challenge Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles at Night of Champions Premium Live Event.

The long-term idea for the angle involves the issues between Usos and The Tribal Chief getting more serious, leading to a potential clash at SummerSlam 2023.

We recently reported about the heat between Roman and the former Tag Team Champions, and here's what you can expect from them on the upcoming SmackDown.
