WWE Hall of Famer Stone Cold Steve Austin recently discussed a phone call he received from Vince McMahon ahead of his WrestleMania 38 match.

After being away from in-ring competition for 19 years, Steve Austin returned to World Wrestling Entertainment at WrestleMania 38 to lock horns with Kevin Owens. The match was set up after Owens talked trash about the state of Texas. The bout ended in favor of The Texas Rattle Snake after he hit the Stunner on KO.

During the A&E WWE Legends Biography, Stone Cold Steve Austin talked about his in-ring return at The Show of Shows. The former WWE Champion said that he wanted to be a part of WrestleMania in Texas no matter what the Stamford-based promotion had in store for him. However, he was surprised after Vince McMahon called and asked him about closing the show.

Steve Austin broke down in tears before saying that it was a pretty good night headlining The Grandest Stage of Them All with Kevin Owens.

"It was just great to be a part of WrestleMania, I didn't care where on the card they wanted me, I was just happy to be there. Vince called me and said 'How do you feel about closing the show?' [gets extremely emotional] I was there that night. Pretty good, yeah. So for me to be 57 in the main event at WrestleMania with Kevin Owens, there's a lot going on," he said.

Stone Cold Steve Austin said he was happy with his WWE run

In the same A&E WWE Legends Biography, Stone Cold Steve Austin was asked about competing one more time in World Wrestling Entertainment. The 59-year-old said that he was pretty happy with how his professional wrestling career went despite not being able to wrestle for a long time like many others.

"I walked away. I'm happy with what I did. There's people who've done more, [and] lasted longer. I had a pretty good run, I'm pretty happy with it. So, I ain't got nothing to prove to nobody," he said.

Steve Austin is one of the most famous names in pro wrestling, even today, as The Texas Rattlesnake is still one of the highest merchandise sellers on the WWE Shop.
