A wrestling veteran recently discussed Cody Rhodes' upcoming match against current WWE United States Champion Logan Paul. The name in question is Freddie Prinze Jr.

On the May 10 episode of Friday Night SmackDown, Nick Aldis revealed that Paul was going to be Rhodes' next opponent. Many people thought it would be a winner-take-all match. However, the duo signed a contract on last week's edition of the blue brand, and it was revealed that only The American Nightmare's Undisputed WWE Championship would be on the line.

During an edition of the Wrestling with Freddie podcast, the 48-year-old said that he believed Cody Rhodes vs. Logan Paul could end in a no-contest following interference from someone who could start a storyline with either of the two.

Freddie Prinze Jr. also mentioned that he would like to see The Maverick feud with LA Knight.

"I think it's going to be a no-contest. I think there's going to be interference in the match. It's going to be someone interfering to start a storyline with Logan Paul or start a storyline with Cody Rhodes. If it's Logan Paul, I think, LA Knight and Logan Paul, I think, would tell a cool story to see who gets to keep that title. As far as Cody goes, I don't know who his next opponent could be, but it's going to be that person who stops that match so you don't get that finish," he said. [H/T Wresting INC]

The wrestling veteran added that he does not think Logan Paul was ready to be a World Champion and it would be a mistake if WWE decided to take the belt off Cody Rhodes this early.

"I don't think Logan Paul is ready to be world champion yet. You can't end Cody's story already. It was a two-year story," he added. [H/T Wresting INC]

Jim Cornette discussed why WWE chose Logan Paul to wrestle Cody Rhodes

During a recent edition of the Jim Cornette Experience, the veteran said that he believed WWE chose Logan Paul to face Cody Rhodes because of the former's popularity in Saudi Arabia, which is the venue for the 2024 King of the Ring Premium Live Event.

"They like Logan Paul in Saudi Arabia because he's a big social media guy. And he had the match with Roman in Saudi Arabia, didn't he?"

It will be interesting to see who will come out on top between The American Nightmare and The Maverick.
