3 possible endings for Batista vs Alberto Del Rio match at WWE Elimination Chamber

The possibilities

The possibilities

The adreline levels of the WWE Universe were in an all-time high when they heard the news that Batista was returning to action after a hiatus of four years. To make maximum utilization of the situation, even before he made his appearance the WWE decided to throw in Alberto Del Rio into the situation.

Purpose of the action was to give the aimless Del Rio some direction and give Batista some fan backing before he heads into WrestleMania. However, everything didn’t go as planned when the fans started to jeer Batista instead of going wild hearing his music.

The Royal Rumble didn’t have the shine as well leaving the feud between Alberto Del Rio and Batista in some sort of limbo with none of the fans really interested in the bout.

There is a lot of pressure riding on the creative to turn around things and to make things worse they only got one shot at it. The match at Elimination Chamber should be made an epic in order to make Batista relevant in the company so let’s take a look at the three possible ways in which the creative could conclude the bout at the Chamber.

3. Drab ending- Batista winning fair and square after a well worked match

The drab one

The drab one

From the looks of it, the company is bound to take this path which might prove to be one of the drabbest endings.

Batista might’ve not spent much time in the Rumble match, but from the time he spent in the match, it was more than clear that he is lacking the edge that he had four years back. Putting such a rusty star in with the technically brilliant Alberto Del Rio and expecting an A star match would be utter foolishness.

With parts of Batista still under reconstruction, the creative wouldn’t be able to put a long match also which could warm the crowd slowly.

So if the company goes with this result, it will just be a short match where Del Rio will look good exposing Batista. The lack of a controversial ending will make the fans forget the match as soon as it ends and will do the least help possible in building up Batista’s momentum ahead of WrestleMania.

2. The Ruthless Animal – Batista turning heel and Del Rio turning face

More effective turn

More effective turn

When Batista left the WWE, he was the company’s top heel. And it was a surprise when WWE decided to end that run and give him a face turn when he made his return.

However, that hasn’t worked well as mentioned earlier and there is still time for the company to rectify the fault and utilize the heat that Batista has been getting.

They could make Batista win the match and unleash a ruthless attack on Del Rio which will attract all the sympathy in the world towards the Mexican. Batista already has some amount of heat among the WWE Universe and such an action will stamp his credibility as a fan.

A couple of Batista bombs on the Announcing tables or steel steps even after Batista won the match will do the job.

This will also serve as a fresh turn for Del Rio who has been growing stale in his heel gimmick. Batista could then go face Daniel Bryan in WrestleMania making an intriguing main event.

1. Beastly ending – Brock Lesnar causing Batista the match

The much needed twist

The much needed twist

Brock Lesnar is an angry beast who is looking to earn what he wants. And he either wants Batista or the title shot, but what if he takes out Batista and takes his place in the WrestleMania?

This will be the emotion controlling Brock Lesnar if he comes out to cost Batista his match at the Chamber.

A run in attack or distraction will give Del Rio the win giving him some momentum while leaving Batista frustrated.

Why?

Because The Elimination Chamber is going to be a milestone in the company’s history as they are set to launch the WWE Network after the pay-per-view. And WWE would want to pull off a spectacular first Raw at the WWE Network and a match between Batista and Brock Lesnar for the WrestleMania title shot is a main event that’s sure to make it an historic one.

The match could also prove to be the returning segment of the Undertaker leaving us with a Raw bigger than the Elimination Chamber itself.
