WWE Fastlane in Indianapolis saw the epic return of The Caribbean Cool aka Carlito who joined forces with the Latino World Order. According to a new report, there was a reason behind hiring back the former Intercontinental and United States Champion.

Earlier this year, Carlito made a surprise return to the promotion when he showed up in Puerto Rico to help Bad Bunny and the Latino World Order against Damain Priest and The Judgment Day. However, he vanished after making the surprise appearance at the event.

According to Dave Meltzer of the WON, the promotion signed Carlito in July 2023, but the creative plans for his official return changed over the past few months. Moreover, WWE wants to focus on the stars of tomorrow which is one of the main reasons why they don't often sign talent for the main roster. Check it out:

"When he was signed, they had different creative planned, which was then dropped and it was waiting for an idea for him. Carlito was signed because he got such a big pop in Puerto Rico. It somewhat went against the doctrine they had about not signing new people for the main roster because it was time to elevate people from NXT."

Carlito breaks silence following return to WWE at Fastlane 2023

Carlito became one of the hottest stars on SmackDown when he debuted for the company and won the United States Championship from John Cena. The Caribbean Cool went on to feud with Cena before moving to Monday Night RAW in the following year.

Later, he shocked the WWE Universe with his debut on the red brand where he immediately captured the Intercontinental Championship from Shelton Benjamin. After becoming a popular face in the world of professional wrestling, he left WWE in 2010.

Earlier this month, he officially returned to the promotion and joined the Latino World Order where he assisted Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar during their match against Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits. Later, he broke his silence following the event. Check it out:

"Its good to be back home!!"

It will be interesting to see what he does next alongside LWO on Friday Night SmackDown.
