WWE Superstar reportedly requires surgery after picking up a serious injury 

Last week it was revealed that top WWE Superstar Liv Morgan sustained an injury ahead of her booked tag team title defense.

Along with her teammate Raquel Rodriguez, Morgan was originally meant to put her title on the line against the brash duo of Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville last week on RAW. However, the match was changed to a singles contest after Liv's ailment was confirmed.

Now a week removed from her injury, Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio has given more details on the former SmackDown Women's Champion injury.

"Liv Morgan has what is believed to be a shoulder injury that may need surgery, and so they announced on SmackDown that her and Raquel are being stripped of the tag team titles, and they are going to do a 4-way on RAW (in two weeks) to determine new champions." [H/T Ringside News]

Tonight on RAW, we will see the teams of Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler, Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville, Bayley and IYO SKY, as well as Raquel Rodriguez and a mystery partner facing off for the vacant tag belts.

Morgan and Rodriguez disbanding of the championships is another list in a long line of lackluster or unfortunate runs with the titles.

Speaking on Busted Open, former WWE and ECW Superstar Tommy Dreamer spoke about the possible jinxed nature of the belts that were introduced back in 2019.

"Kinda feeling like those titles might be jinxed. That's just my opinion. Honestly, like every time the ball gets rolling, something happens. If you think about it, this week, a year ago was when Naomi and Sasha Banks at that time walked away from WWE as tag team champions, and ever since then, that momentum to get them over... Hence, why I feel like a little bit of a jinx with those titles. They have enough women on the roster to get it over, and I know they will. Whilst there have been multiple teams to have held the Women's Tag Team Championships, it could be argued that the booking of the division has been fairly lackluster.
