Seth Rollins WWE WrestleMania 33 health update: WWE releases footage of the Architect training

Rollins reinjured his knee at the hands of Samoa Joe

What’s the story?

The WWE has released footage of Seth Rollins training and readying for his big match against Triple H at WrestleMania 33 on Sunday. He talked about how he was training and also added that he had to be in ‘tip-top condition’ for Sunday’s match.

Here’s what he had to say:

“I had to know how much energy I was going to be able to expend based on how I was feeling. But really I can’t be taking a whole week off. I gotta be ready for Sunday and I gotta be in tip-top condition.”

In another video released by the company, Rollins faced the media and said that he was feeling better than the previous day. He hoped that he was on the upswing with the sickness.

In case you didn’t know…

The Architect of Shield injured his knee for the first time back in 2015 at a house-show. He tore his ACL, MCL and medial meniscus which rendered him unable to compete at WrestleMania 32. He had to undergo extensive rehabilitation before he could return to the ring.

After making a successful return from injury, when it seemed like Rollins was back to his best, he reinjured his knee yet again. Former NXT champion Samoa Joe appeared as Triple H’s bounty hunter and inadvertently caused the legitimate injury in an episode of Monday Night Raw.

The heart of the matter

While the Superstar himself continues to push himself to be ready for WrestleMania, the company has constantly been releasing footage of his progress.

In yet another video, Rollins’ mom Holly was seen talking about the upcoming match. She sounded apprehensive about her son reinjuring himself but at the same time had total belief in his abilities. She believes that her son always gives 110% and claimed that he will come out on top, regardless of whether he reinjures himself or not.

What’s next?

As it stands, Rollins does not seem ready to wrestle a full match. Therefore it would interesting to see how the WWE have him work during his “non-sanctioned” match at the Show of the Shows.

Author’s take

If it was up to me, Rollins would not have been rushed into a match. These kinds of injuries require proper rest, and time is of utmost importance. Even with his athleticism and levels of fitness, bringing him back to the ring is a huge risk.
