Should Ryback be victorious in Hell in a Cell?

With Hell in a Cell just a few days away, expectations are soaring high at the moment. Given that Cena is not in the main event of this PPV, are we going to see something different? Ryback indeed has received a huge push right in the beginning of his career, but has it come a little too soon?

Yes, we know Ryback is a strong wrestler who can decimate opponents, but have we seen enough of Ryback? The most that we have witnessed about Ryback is that he has taken on a few jobbers in matches that have been worthless. Other than that, we haven’t seen Ryback perform much except for this week where he had the liberty to flex his muscles against Punk himself. This makes it very unsure as to whether Ryback will be able to manage the spotlight and live up to the expectation in such a big event?

Ryback’s entry into this feud looked hot and happening, and the response from the crowd looked absolutely convincing that Ryback will be able to fulfill the void that Cena’s injury had left. In fact, there were moments where I personally felt he deserved the big push to the championship title. But with the progress in this feud and after just two weeks, the excitement seemed to have become low, and this became quite prominent during the contract signing clause where the crowd wasn’t very excited.

Anyway, there is no way WWE can change things now and Ryback will fight Punk for the title. The worst thing WWE could do here is give Ryback the title. This is because Ryback hasn’t really seen enough wrestling. To be frank, Ryback has never been in a constructive feud till date which gives him a lot of reasons to stay away from the title picture at least for now. The best that WWE can do now is bring John Cena into the picture and create a feud between Ryback and him. This will give Ryback the necessary time to evolve and present himself as a better wrestler. Cena’s heel turn can also be brought about now as it seems imminent.

With that said, it is expected that Punk will lose the title and go on to face The Rock in Royal Rumble. Giving Ryback precious time in feuds with top wrestlers can indeed help him evolve into the champion material that the WWE, and also the fans, want to witness.

Ryback seems in need for more time in the ring, especially since he has botched his own finishing move quite a few times. As of now, Ryback is the best future prospect that the WWE has in hand and speaking about HIAC, a good match with Punk on the winning side is indeed the right thing to witness.
