WrestleMania will emanate for New Orleans, the previous home of WrestleMania XXX, which only took place back in 2014.
The heart of the matter
Lots of things were planned for AJ Styles on Raw, such as a US Title feud with Kevin Owens, a match with Brock Lesnar and a reunion with Gallows and Anderson. However, in the end, the decision to keep him on SmackDown, ultimately came down to how the WWE wanted to handle one man, that being their priority project, Roman Reigns.
The current plan for Raw has been previously reported by numerous sources, that being the controversial, Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar encounter. The SD Live Main Event is set to be AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura.
What's next?
On Raw, Brock Lesnar is currently off TV and Roman Reigns is locked in a feud with Braun Strowman. Over on SD Live, AJ Styles is the now the No.1 contender for the US Title on Raw and will begin his program with Kevin Owens, after he retains his title against Chris Jericho.
Meanwhile, Nakamura's debut feud will see him go up against Dolph Ziggler, who he has been defeating in dark matches.
Author's take
AJ Styles will benefit from remaining with the writers that have used him so well over the last 8 months, rather than being used as stepping stone for Brock Lesnar to beat before he faces Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34.
The WWE have probably opted to book AJ Styles vs. Nakamura for WrestleMania 34 to compensate for the fans likely total indifference towards the Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns encounter.
