WWE WrestleMania 32: Brock Lesnar is not the favorite against Dean Ambrose

The Beast might have bitten off more than he can chew

One thing is clear, the build-up to this match has been awesome and with about two weeks to go for WrestleMania 32, I’m pretty sure there’s more to come. But what makes this match so special?

What makes this match so different from the Undertaker versus Shane McMahon match or the HHH versus Roman Reigns match? This match doesn’t feature a WWE legend, neither does it feature one of the most decorated stars in the history of WWE. It doesn’t even feature the supposed future face of the company.

This match is not going decide the future of the company and there’s no title on the line. So why are fans so excited for this match? Wrestling is not all about muscle, star power, belts, or money.

It’s the emotion, the character, the skills and the passion that counts. The former Shield member has all of that. And he is going up against Brock Lesnar himself. Brock Lesnar, who built quite a reputation for taking his opponents through rather painful and agonizing journeys of his very own Suplex City.

But of course, that’s not what this match is all about. It is a No Holds Barred Street Fight. It’s like Disneyland for Ambrose. Disneyland with a lot of Suplexes, F-5s, and the wide array of weapons Lesnar will have at his disposal.

But Ambrose is the Lunatic Fringe. That might not be a fun time for a normal person, but that’s Dean Ambrose for you. And this perhaps is his biggest challenge ever, maybe even the biggest challenge he’ll ever face in his entire career. If you haven’t noticed yet, Lesnar is not the most merciful opponent, not by a long shot.

The Beast Incarnate has beaten down the biggest opponents like a bulldozer pancaking a hut. He’s never had much of a problem with most opponents in the WWE. So is this the biggest mismatch ever?

Does the former Intercontinental champion even stand a chance? Will Lesnar even break a sweat taking Ambrose down? Well I’ll reiterate that this is a No Holds Barred match. How often has Ambrose been unpredictable and how often has he exceeded our expectations?

Make no mistake, the Lunatic Fringe will not go down without a fight. The former Intercontinental Champion is going to have a few trick up his sleeve, or a barbed-wire wrapped bat, at least. And maybe, just maybe this might be the push that Ambrose needs and you can be sure, he’ll make full use of it. Win or lose, this match will have a positive impact on his career.

The other two Shield alumni got their pushes. Maybe this is the one Ambrose needs, and deservedly too. His popularity has been rising and is now an upper card singles competitor in his own right.

To those assuming Ambrose doesn’t know what he’s getting into, look who has his back - Mick Foley himself. And who knows more about No Holds Barred matches than one of the most hardcore wrestlers in the history of the WWE? And what’s more, that’s what Ambrose is known for - going headfirst into challenges.

For me, this is the main event of WrestleMania 32. It’s an absolutely reckless character against brute strength. It’s not about a title or control of the company. It’s going to be an all-out, bloody brawl.

Make no mistake, Ambrose will get backed into a corner, he will be mercilessly thrown around and beaten up like a rag doll by the monster that is Brock Lesnar. But don’t think the Lunatic Fringe won’t retaliate. The Beast too will get a tour, perhaps quite a painful one, of the Ambrose Asylum.

The other two big matches lack the flavour that this one does. Let’s face it, Shane McMahon and The Undertaker aren’t exactly rivals, till now, there isn’t really anything exciting about the match other than the fact that it marks the return of the would-be patriarch, Shane O’Mac to the ring and it will decide whether Shane will get control of Raw or not. And HHH is just facing Reigns as he is next the next face and he has to be put over and all that.

Brock Lesnar versus Dean Ambrose is going to be a treat to watch. Something that can be seldom said these days.
