WrestleMania 35 Predictions: 5 unexpected champions we may get at the show

Will we see an unexpected champion at WrestleMania?

WrestleMania 35 is just a couple of days away from us as WWE will deliver the 35th edition of The Showcase of Immortals live from the Metlife Stadium in New Jersey.

A total of 9 championship matches are scheduled for the show with all the titles on RAW, SmackDown, and 205 Live on the line at the grandest stage of them all.

As WrestleMania is coming closer, fans and analysts are predicting which challengers would walk out of WrestleMania with the title around their waists. While a lot of matches have favorites to win due to some reason or the other, there are some superstars that no one is expecting to see become champions at 'Mania.

In this article, let's take a look at the 5 unexpected champions that we may get at WrestleMania 35. Do share your thoughts with us in the comments section.

#5 John Cena - United States Champion

Will we get a massive shock at 'Mania?
Will we get a massive shock at 'Mania?

John Cena's current plan for this year at WrestleMania 35 is not yet clear. Kurt Angle did spill the beans that Cena will be there, but at the same time, he didn't tell anything about what actually he will be doing at the show.

Now there are rumors that he'll just be in a segment, most probably interrupting Elias' musical performance, but what if he actually has a match?

The news is that Rey Mysterio got injured and might not be a part of WrestleMania. He is scheduled to challenge Samoa Joe for the United States Championship at WM. In case he is not fit, WWE will have to look for an alternative opponent. And who better than the man that fans have been wanting to see go up against Joe for a long time?

In what will be a dream match for many, John Cena could replace Mysterio and challenge Samoa Joe for the United States Championship. If that happens, there is a good chance that Cena might walk out of WrestleMania as a 3-time WWE United States Champion.

Though I'd personally prefer him to give a rub to Joe and put him over if he does actually replace Mysterio in the match.

#4 Nia Jax and Tamina: Women's Tag Team Champions

The WWE Women's Tag Team titles are scheduled to be defended at WrestleMania as the current champs, Sasha Banks and Bayley, will take on The IIconics, Natalya and Beth Phoenix, and Nia Jax and Tamina in a fatal-four way tag team match.

Most of the fans are predicting the Boss n Hug connection will retain their titles as their reign is relatively new at this point. But WWE could well surprise us by putting the titles on the destructive team of Nia and Tamina. It'd be interesting to see how long Sasha and Bayley stay together before someone turns heel and they feud against each other.

#3 Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder - RAW Tag Team Champions

This is the most recent match added to the WrestleMania card, as WWE announced that The Revival will defend their RAW Tag Team Titles against the team of Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

Now Hawkins is on a losing streak of 0-259 matches ever since his comeback, and WrestleMania 35 could be his night as he can pick up his first victory in WWE after defeating The Revival to become new RAW Tag Team Champion.

#2 Rusev and Nakamura: SmackDown Tag Team Champions

This team does have a lot of potentials!

Rusev and Shinsuke Nakamura feuded for the United States Championship during the ending months of 2018. But since both of them are out of the title picture, WWE has paired them up, though they are not treated as a dominating tag-team.

At WrestleMania, they will be challenging The SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos along with The Bar, and Ricochet and Aleister Black in a fatal-four way tag team match.

It would be a shocking moment indeed if these two manage to win this match and become the new SmackDown Tag Team Champs. This could also kickstart a push for them post WrestleMania season.

#1 Ronda Rousey: Double champion

WrestleMania 35 is all set to have the first ever women's main event in WrestleMania history as Ronda Rousey, Becky Lynch, and Charlotte will compete in a triple-threat "Winner Takes All" match for the RAW and SmackDown Women's Championship.

With Becky being the proper face against the two top heels, Rousey and Charlotte, fans are expecting her to win the match. But surprise! What if Ronda Rousey defeats The Queen and The Man to become the first ever women's double champion? That'd be really shocking and fans won't take that so nicely.
