WWE confirm NXT announcer's release, interested in signing new wrestlers and more

Tony Dawson

WWE have confirmed the release of NXT announcer Tony Dawson.

It is believed that WWE have offered $400,000 to coax Tensai, who was earning $100,000 per year with New Japan Pro Wrestling, into accepting a deal.

According to Wrestlinginc, WWE officials are expressing explicit interest in signing NJPW stars Karl Anderson, Prince Devitt and CMLL wrestler Volador Jr.

The Warlord has been added to the alumni section on the official website of WWE. Even though Warlord’s wrestling career came to an abrupt end, his contributions cannot be undermined as he played a crucial role in mentoring the likes of Chris Jericho and Batista.

In an interview to WWE.com in 2010, The Warlord has been quoted as saying: “Batista names me as his favorite of all time. It’s the biggest flattery I’ve ever had, and it really means a lot.”
