WWE has announced that an Intercontinental Cup tournament will take place in the coming weeks to determine the No.1 contender for Wade Barrett’s Intercontinental Championship. WWE has revealed the names of the 8 wrestlers set to take part in this tournament, which begins this week on WWE Main Event.
The Miz, Kofi Kingston, Darren Young, Antonio Cesaro, Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes, Damien Sandow and Randy Orton are the superstars who will be a part of this tournament. It has to be noted that Antonio Cesaro, the current United States Champion, is also a part of this tournament.
Among the 8 wrestlers, Darren Young is a doubtful participant because of his injury suffered during the Royal Rumble match. Rumors indicate that he may be replaced by Bo Dallas, who has burst into the scene with a credible performance at Royal Rumble and a surprise victory against Wade Barrett on Raw. If this turns out to be the case, then it is a given that he will go on to win the 8-man tournament. Interestingly, Bo Dallas earned his spot in the royal rumble match by winning an NXT tournament involving 8 wrestlers.
