WWE Monday night Raw preview for December 2, 2013

Heel or face? The writers apparently don't care

With a sense of panic settling in the company’s creative plans, the WWE will be bringing this week’s Monday night Raw as an attempt to clear out the cloud veiling the confusing and stale storylines. The recent reports suggest that, from openers to main eventers, the creative has a lot of mess to clean up in order to save their job. And there won’t be a better way to clean up the nasty situation than pulling off an impressive Raw. After last week’s rollercoaster ride, the show will be held in Chesapeake Arena of Oklahoma City this time and here’s a look at what all the fans could expect from the latest edition of WWE’s flagship show.

Miz: a star who lost his identity

Heel or face? The writers apparently don’t care

This would arguably be one of the most confusing storylines that has been put in front of the fans. The former WWE champion turned heel two weeks ago after turning his back on Kofi Kingston in a tag team match. But the expected hype for the heel turn failed to pick up as the Miz was seen offering handshakes of respect for Kingston after their match at Survivor Series. He also didn’t use any bad tactics to win the matches and has forced the fans to go nuts about the whole chaotic situation. It’s widely believed that his heel turn has been put on hold due to his upcoming movie Christmas bounty, which is another criticism that was laid on the creative team. They will be scrambling to make things more sensible this time as the WWE fans will be hoping for the same.

Brodus Clay and his new direction

Vicious dancing heel monster : makes a lot of sense

Vicious dancing heel monster : makes a lot of sense

When Xavier Woods used the entrance theme of Clay last week on Raw, it was expected that the two would cross paths sooner or later. And the SmackDown proved to be the place where it went down as Clay was seen turning heel but still seemed stuck with his dance moves. Now for starters, no one wants to see him as a dancing monster inside the ring. Secondly, the supporting characters in the situation (Tensai and R-Truth) have lost their importance since the feud was concentrated on Clay and Woods. That would be the two main problems this week’s Raw needs to address as the current midcard is going nowhere with aimless plots that makes make the fans yawn.

Are they really going to make Big E Langston and Mark Henry a team?

Clueless pairing

Clueless pairing

In what proved to be another blooper from the writers, we saw a new intense looking bald Mark Henry return as a baby face at Survivor Series. Instead of making him look like a menacing monster he naturally is, Henry was seen smiling at the fans which resulted in the wastage of his much anticipated new look. Things went worse as the WWE started planning for a potential teaming up of Henry with Big E Langston to face Curtis Axel and Ryback. Two stars will be better off as singles and the tag team should only be used on a short term. Pairing Axel with Ryback also shows the pathetic situation the company is in right now as it clearly calls out that they have no idea on what to do with either men. Langston’s red hot title reign also seems destined to be wasted in the current situation but then again if the writers are on a mission to destroy the midcard, they are almost at their destination.

The Superman returns

Time to reciprocate

Time to reciprocate

It is still to be confirmed whether the titles will be actually unified at TLC but one thing that is certain to happen on Raw is John Cena seeking revenge for Randy Orton’s actions last week. The Viper laid out Cena and held both the titles high and teased a potential climax of TLC, where one wrestler could walk out with both the titles rather than a single unified one. With Big Show removed from action for some time, the limelight is concentrated on the champions and the Authority also seems to slip off to concentrate elsewhere. The loser in all of this would be Alberto Del Rio, who will be left with no credible feud other than possible squash matches with Cena. Del Rio apart, Orton could well be on the receiving side of an Attitude adjustment (FU was way better) this time around with Cena reciprocating the gestures that Orton did last week.

Why isn’t anyone panicked about Daniel Bryan?

Your fiance doesn't care, your tag team partner doesn't care then why should the fans?

Your fiance doesn’t care, your tag team partner doesn’t care then why should the fans?

The Indie darling was seen ‘kidnapped’ by the Wyatts last week and no one seemed much concerned about the star thereafter. Brie Bella was seen asking autograph of Michael Strahan shortly after the incident (which the WWE covered with a video of Brie being concerned in WWE.com) and Bryan’s so called best partner was seen going after The Shield without even taking an effort to seek out his partner or go after the Wyatt family. The last time the Wyatts kidnapped someone, it didn’t end pretty well for the fan and the current situation with Daniel Bryan looks no different as the WWE has gone back to tear a page from WCW’s text book by showing off such senseless angles. WCW’s Robocop saving Sting angle made more sense compared to the current dilemma that the writers are putting the fans through. Some light on the Bryan situation is the least expected from the show that is well on its way to being extinct.
