What's the story?

SmackDown Live is the House That AJ Styles Built and he's currently standing tall as United States Champion. He gave an invitation only to Tye Dillinger for a US Title Match on the Las Vegas edition of SmackDown Live and these two got it going early with an awesome social media exchange.

In case you didn't know...

Tye Dillinger might not have ever won the NXT Title while in WWE's developmental territory, but he still became one of the most popular people on the roster. Crowds love chanting "10" at him as he makes his entrance. Claiming to be "The Perfect 10," on some nights he gets one of the biggest crowd reactions of the show.

Upon jumping over to SmackDown Live there hasn't been much of a chance for Dillinger to show what he can do. But all that is about to change because AJ Styles obviously noticed the great potential Tye possesses.

AJ Styles is the WWE United States Champion and proudly holds the title he plucked from Kevin Owens. Now Styles and Dillinger are set to do battle for the US Title at SmackDown Live in Las Vegas.

The heart of the matter

Tye Dillinger and AJ Styles might have to wait until Tuesday to get their hands on each other but it looks like they got things going early with a back-and-forth on social media.

Both of these guys are hungry to perform and prove they're the best but there was still a mutual respect which is incredible to see.

They'll leave it in the ring in Las Vegas on SmackDown Live, but until then we'll just have to wait and get more excited about this impending championship match.

Tye Dillinger seems to be all in already, but AJ Styles isn't forgetting how special it is to hold the WWE US Title, especially on a day like September 11th.

AJ is going to give it his all in order to keep his US Title. After all, he doesn't plan on losing his title to another Canadian anytime soon.

What's next?

AJ Styles and Tye Dillinger might be set to have a barn-burner of a match. Then again, with Baron Corbin stalking around looking at Styles' US Title like it's his next goal, who knows if The Lone Wolf will even let this match end in a definite manner?

Author's take

Few people remember Tye Dillinger from his first run with WWE when he performed as Gavin Spears, but I do. I've always been a huge supporter of his and he has proved himself to be worth anyone's time.

Dillinger has a passion for the business and his charisma is outstanding. On the other hand, it's hard to find anything bad to say about AJ Styles either. He makes an amazing champion no matter which title he's holding.

These two will certainly be a "can't miss" portion of SmackDown Live this week, that's for sure.
